5-1 time doesnt mean 5-1 odds. If you could wipe hikaru's brain every move it would be fair but he still thinks while youre thinking and much faster. A time advantage is only an advantage if you can surprise your opponent.
@CarlitosPR942 жыл бұрын
@@johnsterne178 Thinking on your opponents turn is not an advantage he is just a better player so obviously he makes calculations while the other player does. But during his turn he has to either make a fast calculation or response to a move he already predicted during the opponents turn. So yes 5-1 time is a 5-1 odds compared to a 5-5 time control that would completely change how this game went. You can't seriously think that having 1 minute is not a disadvantage. You go ahead a play against people lower rated than you with just 1 minute while they have 5 and see how easily you make blunders way faster than them even if you are rated higher. Not to forget that after 2000 rating you can't afford to blunder unless you are a GM like Hikaru

@ericmol26142 жыл бұрын
I play minute speed chess and I saw that pawn take. Yeah, that would cause a lot of pressure. It would have been a monster pawn. You can see he was prepared, he knew that opening and this helped him with the clock. If the other guy doesn't know the opening and it's a strong one then this could cost him time on the clock to work out positions verses the guy who already knows the positions. And this player used this in his play. Also to try to drain the clock he threw that combination wrench there in the center of the board. Instead of hikaru trying to analyze it and burn time, he just castled.
