Dave was so closer to getting his queen before Mark. He just got his eye off the ball and put himself into check. He should have moved the pawn up 9.26. Then it may go into rook queen mate.

At 7:15, this should be a simple position for Duck, his knight dominated dave's bishop, his rooks control the only half open file. I wonder why didn't he just lock the queen side first with a5, R8h7 (to guard the backward pawn f7, put the king on d5. Then wait. White have some weaknesses to worry about, h2,g5,e5,c2.f3, e3 (the square). I think there would be bigger chance for white to made mistake(s) or lost on time.

Nice game! Again Duck won this positionally, at least up to the illegal move... close to the time Dave's pawns were doubled because Dave's bishop then became worth less than Duck's knight. This is the one part of Dave's game that could use a bit of improvement, because up until Dave allowed Duck to blockade everywhere, I liked Dave's position a lot more up to then. I really like Dave's attacking style; I just wish he would increase his flexibility on when to pay more attention to the long term consequences of what his opponent is doing. If the attack is strong, sometimes that can be ignored... but not always!

That pawn to a5 move by Dave was not a good move, at all. Made his pawn weak and his rook tying down to that pawn, making the rook very inactive and away from all the action that was going on on the king side.

Actually, I think that was his only chance to try to win the game, as then the rook can try to attack the b4 pawn. If Duck lock the position with a5, Dave, being an aggresive player, wouldn't like that.
