the closest thing we'll ever come to a my strange addiction episode. Today we have Mark Nishiyama, he's been in the MLM game for 20+ years but wanted to come on the show to discuss Ponzi Schemes and warn people of HYIP investments. Things quickly unravel though when I realize Mark is still planning to invest in yet ANOTHER Ponzi Scheme.
mark's HYIP's over the years as far as I can tell
OneCoin
Alcore

Lebronic

It seems pretty clear to me that the reason this man isn't walking away from HYIPs or MLMs, and he isn't raging mad, is because he's looking for his opportunity to get in on the scam early enough to get his money back and/or make a bunch of profit. He has very obviously adopted the idea of "I don't want to fix the issues, I just want in on the ground floor."

Exactly. That's why he was talking about which one should last longer. Also he apparently holds influence over and has the confidence of 250 ppl (probably from his MLM days) and even though he said he wouldn't hurt them if he knew it was a Ponzi from the get go, knowing it's probably a Ponzi doesn't stop him from believing in it in the first place.

@@DJVARAO so I'm approaching it from a freelance perspective. I have a main job but I'll do marketing on the side for some extra cash. I'll do an entry level offer where I gather data for $65. Then I can eventually do a website for around $1800 to $2100. But most of the time I'll do lead gen, where I'll charge anywhere from 400 a month plus commission to 1500 a month plus commission (if they want a va that will do phone calls). I get all my clients from referrals and fiverr right now. I started in February and I've gotten about 4k so far. But I haven't spent any money on ads or anything. I like how he keeps prefacing his confessions with "but I do *believe* it's real" like...yeah...we get that. The part we're getting hung up on is *HOW* you could possibly still think it's real, and how you're doing these mental gymnastics to convince yourself that you've learned your lesson and that "this next one" is going to be legit. Dude. I'm a recovering addict, was on heroin for 11 years of my life, and I essentially told myself the same lie multiple times a day, "ok, this is the last time". I get it, I understand that inability to stop yourself against your better judgement. 16:33 The characteristic of a Ponzi scheme is the flow of money from bottom to top, be it through the outflows of product buying commissions or outright "participation fee". Another is the amount of risk (business and monetary) carried is heavily skewed towards the bottom (i.e. new recruits) and not equally between company and distributor. These are effectively the same with MLMs. Laws will catch up sooner or later to outlaw MLMs.

Skull Rose. it’s a theory that when you money on something, and it’s not working out for you, that you just need to keep doing it because you’ve already spent so much money on it. You’ve already “sunk so many costs” into the endeavor that you might as well stay with it. For example, a doctor who hates being a doctor but won’t switch to a different career because they spent so much money to get that degree in the first place

He is running his own scam. What happens is, he purposely invests in Ponzi schemes and he makes money through referral pay. He gets money when he brings new people to the scheme. And also the ponzi does pay out initially so overall while he loses money in the end he profits through initial Ponzi payouts and mostly through referrals. His losses could be looked at “the cost of doing business”. And his “business” is scamming people into joining a scam

He's delusional sadly. But he has a talent for 'leading' and gaining personal followers and has a talent for a finding these get quick rich opportunities early enough. He just doesn't have the talent in convincing himself he's getting into "schemes" and not real, viable businesses. Listen when he said "don' tell me that" when his followers say they spent more than they should. Yes, they broke his rule of not going over 10% of their discretionary income, but he KNOWS his followers are weak and I think he's convinced himself that it's ok to lead gullible people since "he warned them". If I knew a guy was prone to jumping off cliffs, and I brought him alongside one even though I said "don't do that", I'd feel emotionally to blame even if that person has their own responsibilities. I think him being the leader of this group making the most money has overridden the portion of his brain that he's helping himself more than his followers. It's all about easy money. You heard him "I'm 55 there's no way im doing a 9-5 job."

It does exist in 2020. It existed way before. Check DWave and other companies. However none of them have been able to make more than a few qbits working together, so these quantum computers(QCs) are not doing anything significant. Cracking a RSA password is way off, maybe could take 20 to 30 years till the engineering challenges could be surmounted, else it would take even longer. Forget about these things even used for finance. Plus QCs suck at anything that a classical computer does. AI is very serial, and QC is for more parallel things so not even compatible for the job here.
