Love the video. I just purchased a slightly larger one for $2.00, and plan on using this video as my guide. Thanks.

Very interesting, cheers. I have just been given several planes including grooving and coffin planes to restore/practice on. Thanks for the advice. I will let you know how the restorations go.

Brilliant. Just show that if a blade isnt heat treated properly it makes a huge differance. Great video Richard 😁👏👍🏼

Thanks Japie, yeah it makes a big difference…. I certainly didn’t consider that it would even need doing either….must have been changed, annealed, or just always rubbish?!?

@@BrainFizz well i talk from experience as at times i make my own turning tools and if the heat treat is botched, then the tool is a zero on a contract.

Nice job, now you need a brass hammer for adjusting 🛠👍😊

Lol.. What bi actually need is the time to turn the brass and ash i already have sent aside, into a hammer…… although to be fair, chances are ill just use the Warrington……it’s not getting massive hammer blows, and the beech is pretty sturdy

Thanks!! I’ve no idea how old this little plane is, but its back in circulation now, and part of a team of vintage tools being used to repair windows and doors in historic homes around England.

Yes thats the way the channel will be heading moving forward, its what I'm already doing over on instagram, so it'll just be a continuation here I think..and include the restoration of a lot of the tools I'm using on those projects.
