Thanks, it's about time this bypass was constructed. For thirty years I've battled my way through coffs in a semi trailer, and in holiday times it was a complete nightmare.

By the sounds of it Mark it’s overdue. Hopefully the funds come through soon and you get to use it at least once before you head into retirement. Ps; I hope I didn’t offend you regarding the assumption of your age. ✌️

@@TBird89 Overdue by about 30 years. Whenever I and family drive down to see rest of the family in Newcastle, my co-driver flat out refuses to do the Coffs stint. They absolutely HATE driving in the place and so It's always me who does that part of the trip.

@@petert3355 you and everyone else. I don’t understand the logic of politicians. In construction and especially road construction a dollar today can’t buy a dollar tomorrow.

Well it was all virtual, no drone involved. But yes, atrocious piloting.

Must say I am highly impressed at the size of the aircraft on the runway at Coffs Airport, A380 ? Some big upgrades coming for that too ? 😆 Good video, travel to and through Coffs at least once a week for work, this bypass is well overdue and will be a gamechanger when done !!

Nice. Adding a kilometre covered graphic would be good, and where the Big Banana is fir this familiar with CHs most well known landmark.
@DeepThought99996 күн бұрын
Big Banana is bypassed by the new road but not by much, so I guess that’s why it wasn’t shown. I think that it will be accessable by that interchange with a roundabout shown near the end of the fly-through and then by travelling south on the current Pacific Highway a short distance from there.

I actually thought it would be further advanced than it is...😢 When the bridges, culverts, tunnels are done - do another flyover please😊

Cuts right through private land

About a year ago I travelled from Sydney to Grafton on the M1/A1 Motorway, the only bottleneck I encountered was Coffs Harbour. Any thing they do there would have to be better than what is there now.

No such thing as private land. All land is kept at the permission of the powers that be.

Is this some kind of joke? Never more than half a dozen vehicles on the Highway and half of them wrongly in the r.h. lane overtaking nobody. I've lived in the region (30 kms South of Coffs) for over 40 years , seen and heard all the arguments and delays while the original planned bypass route was given over to residential subdivision. Now they've made huge stretch of the existing Highway through Coffs 60 k. zones though bypass construction safe distance away slowing everyone down. If the bypass is finished by 2028 I'll be most surprised.

Why has this even been put up? Is it the official design signed off by TfNSW?
@starpawsy3 ай бұрын
The graphics and the "piloting" are very poor. Suggest you take a look at the approach (pun intended) done on the Stage 3 Light Rail Beeleigh to Benowa videos here. THAT is how they SHOULD be done.

And suddenly... Coffs Harbour becomes a ghost town.
@waynehampson95696 ай бұрын
Not necessarily. Berry on the south coast was bypassed and it is still a hive of activity on the weekends.
@aussiebloke514 ай бұрын
Most country towns are rejuvenated when all the through traffic is taken out of the town centre. The people who will use this by-pass weren't going to stop in Coffs anyway.
@petert33553 ай бұрын
@@aussiebloke51 Woodburn would seriously like to disagree with you on that.
@aussiebloke513 ай бұрын
@petert3355 Woodburn was always a bottleneck. It will be a better place for locals without trucks and heavy vehicles rumbling down the drag. It will become a place the surrounding areas will want to visit.
@petert33553 ай бұрын
@@aussiebloke51 But we are not talking about bottlenecks are we? What the discussion is about is towns either thriving or becoming ghost towns after being bypassed. Pretty clear which camp Woodburn is in.
