For Nuggets safety, you did the right thing. With the smells, other animals could have been attracted to him. And in his weakness might have not been able to fight them off. I remember when Nugget was attacked and bleeding from being attacked by some animal. It is possible the eggs found around the sight that were open and empty, could have been taken by critters in the night. That morning Nugget was found by Jason was heartbreaking. It was clear Nugget had been in a fight. When he sat in Jason’s lap and put his head on Jason’s shoulder for comfort, it was a tearful moment for me. Jason and Brooke will never do anything to hurt an animal. And they never fail to call for professional help when needed. ❤️
