I am sorry to inform all who will red this statement but with all due repect to the dearly departed and late founders of the church of God in Christ and to the late William Seymore, neither he nor Bishop C.H Mason were the first to institute by-racial assembly and worship. This type of worship had been inovated and practiced by a man by the name of Charles Parham. Charles Parham was a white preacher from the Holiness movement. This man actually mentered William J. Seymore and helped send him to Los Angeles the first time he came to L.A. I say again, they were not the fathers of interracial worship in America. I mean no disrespect, I am a church history Major and researcher. The Rev. Elijah Hill needs to do a better job in his research.

Even Though Parham was First and he was a White man. My research says that he had Seymour outside his window in Kansas to hear the Teaching. Then Because of Racism They went to Houston Tx but racism persisted so he W. J. Seymour was sent to California which was more racially inclusive. Then in 1906 under Seymour Azusa Expanded and Exploded Under W.J. Seymour a Black Man. C.H. Mason received the holy ghost at Azusa then took it back to his Holiness Friends C.P. Jones and others who took the COGIC from him. In 1907 he went to Supreme court to fight Jones for that name. The court ruled in his favor so the COGIC actually started in 1897 nor 1907 thats when Mason Reorganised. After that the COGIC Exploded in Membership because Mason had credentials that were nationally recognized. They presided in peace until Racism Started the Assemblies Of God which was the White Pastors and Elders in the COGIC. Now the COGIC is the Mother Organization to The Assembly Of God not Sister Organization But Mother. So bro Hill is Right. Add those Assembly of God Numbers under COGIC Then what do you get. The Largest Pentecostal Church in the World.

@@Longrev4 Thanks for being honest, and giving honor where honor is due! How could Parham be the father of something interracially, when William Seymour had to sit outside to engage in Bible study 😢! Jesus was with the humble Seymour and not with someone who followed the racist rules of the day. Parham had the opportunity to be the 1st, but he failed the simple test to obey God, rather than man!! 😢 Thank God Elder Seymour obeyed God! And the AOG failed also because they were given the opportunity to take a stand against racism, but they also chose racist laws over the Word of God! History isn’t always pleasant, but the least we should do is, tell it truthfully and learn from it!
