Thank you for your videos. My doctor advised me to look at me/Cfs symptoms and some of the treatments after I have been struggling to recover from COVID-19. 6 months in and finally accepting how important ‘pacing’ is. Although there are days that are out of my control that cause me to have big crashes, trying best I can to plan my days so I Don t run out of energy, has helped me the most to have “ better for longer”days. Your videos have really helped me put words and cause to all these debilitating symptoms I ve been feeling all these months.

How do you treat cognitive impairment?

My daughter got diagnosed with ME/CFS ten years ago, five years bedbound with severe POTS and IBS. She can't even sit in her bed because of her POTS. I wrap her legs and tummy with elastic bandages so she can walk a little to prevent blood clots. Without Klonazepam she gets myoclonus. She is on low Fodmap diet which shouldn't last for more than a month but there is nothing else that helps. Her potassium is constantly too low. In my country doctors don't know anything about ME/CFS and I don't know what to do and how to help her any more.

What type of doctor would you go to to get your thyroid checked out and what exactly would you ask him to look for?

This is an old comment but in case it's helpful for anyone... the main specialists for thyroid care are endocrinologists. They often start with a simple throat exam (like feeling for lumps in your neck) and a blood test that checks for TSH , T3 and T4. High TSH usually indicates hypothyroidism. Fortunately, medication often brings your thyroid back to healthy levels. But of course your doctor would be better than me at recommending a treatment :)

if you really want to get better you need to eliminate indoor/outdoor and Rescue pets from your life. These furry friends can carry Trypanosomes. Kala Azar AKA Leishmania Chagasi is one disease that is similar to ME/CFS and Long Covid. The cause is Trypanosome Cruzi (see page 1428 CMDT 2003). and page 158 Parasite Rex by Carl Zimmer.
