For question 2 I was wondering do we always have to work out a half of the cross sectional area of the triangular prism whenever you calculate the total of three volumes of a figure

When you have a figure made up of three identical triangular prisms, you can find the total volume by calculating the volume of just one triangular prism and then multiplying it by three. To find the volume of one triangular prism, you use the formula: For a triangular prism, the base area is half the product of the base length and the height of the triangle. So, first, calculate the volume of one prism. Then, multiply that volume by three to get the total volume of all three prisms together. If the prisms are not identical, you'll need to find the volume of each one separately and then add them together to get the total volume.
