COH 3 Saving Monte Cassino

Monte Cassino was a catholic monastery destroyed by the Allies during World War II. Claimed as an observation post of elite German paratroopers, its destruction through bombing was made. This turned out to be detrimental to assault allied troops since the ruin became a good fortification instead by defending troops. Finally on May 18, 1944, five months into the bloody campaign, Polish troops captured the abbey. Company of Heroes 3 allowed the player to make a choice to let the Abbey be destroyed or not. Saving Monte Cassino from destruction could have been a better choice.
