Is Claudio always pitch perfect? No. Does his voice get tired? Of course it does. But one thing is absolutely certain. Claudio has emotion and soul in his voice, and that'll never change. A brilliant performance, I never thought I'd hear this song go acoustic, and it's beautiful.

My favorite thing about this version is when his voice cracks. I dont know if its something he does on purpose or if it just happens but its a perfect fit for the song. I really dont think its overstating things to say Claudio is one of the best singer/songwriters there has ever been, he's in a class all his own.

John Sheppard IV Yah sure about that? I don't doubt that he wrote it on acoustic first, but in this version, Claudio is in an alternate tuning while Travis is in standard. I think it's still probably translated from the original version for electric.

I found this years ago but still come back to this video every few months because its one of the most beautiful acoustic versions of any song I've heard. This song has always reminded me of those days early into my sobriety back in 2014, after battling drug addiction for a decade. As powerful as the original sounds, the mournful sound of this version fits the emotions I was feeling at the time, mourning all the life I felt I had wasted away. Ugh, its just perfect. Pack it up boys, you'll never find a more beautiful acoustic cover than this.

And let this be a lesson to how much an arrangement is fundamental to the feelings a song imparts on its listeners. The regular version is burning, intense, heavy-hitting, about having to make a tough choice in the nick of time. The acoustic one feels like past regrets, melancholy, about how things should be different from what they actually are. Coheed are masters at their craft. One of the greatest bands in the history of rock and roll music!
