Out of all the versions.. Gotta say The Band do it for me.

You know.. when i first started listening to the band back in 2002, i must admit i only really looked up to Claudio, but ive come to respect the whole band as muscisians. Travis is such a good singer/guitarist. Mic todd, is one of the best bassist ive ever had the pleasure of hearing. I really miss josh, but chris pennie is a great drummer as well. This band is a group of gods coming together to form a modern masterpiece.

Amazing, it gave me goosebumps. I just love these guys! Who could ask for a better band altogether? I also find it funny how Claudio has a hard time figuring out where to place his pick. Overall, awesome! Thanks for posting it. =)

What a real song. Standing next to me in this lonely crowd Is a man who swears he's not to blame. All day long I hear him shout out loud. Crying out that he was framed. He blames others because something broke his heart and he feels the need to judge.
@ShawRoadProductions14 жыл бұрын
it's probably worth noting that Travis WAS the lead singer for Coheed in the beginnings of the band, but Claudio filled in one day when he couldn't make it to band practice. and then they heard his voice and decided he would sing. (it was mentioned in one of the neverender dvd's)

I did not expect to hear that voice come out of Trav's mouth. Nor did i think Claudio even owned a harmonica. Anybody know where this was at? And when?
@arpadelluna15 жыл бұрын
Like it a lot! Especially the harmonica at the end. Seems to end just a bit brusquely, in fact... could have drawn out that harmonica into ... out into the light that comes shining... something like that.

He dies do verry few backup vocal's for Claudio in COheed, but I think he should do WAY more. He was two side projects, English Panther and The Fire Duce, in which Claudio sings backup for him. There voices complement each other SO well, and I hope they use more of this awesome combo in Coheed and Cambria's next album.

This is more of "The Band"'s version, at least I would I think because it sounds like travis is trying to emulate Richard Manuel's singing on their version. Should have stuck with Bob Dylan.

Every falsetto cover of "I Shall Be Released" will always be compared to the majesty of Richard Manuel with the Band, and this just doesn't hold snuff. When Manuel would sing it, you could hear the pain in his voice. I can respect them for wanting to give their take, but it really just fell flat for me.
