This. There are few bands out there that are able to adapt what makes their style great time and time again without losing that core essence. Every time Coheed makes a song, it screams "this is Coheed", but it never tires or feels like they are milking their sound.
@UncleDeadly1031
@UncleDeadly1031 2 жыл бұрын
Not bashing the band so pre-emptively chill, but seriously? This sounds like it came out of a “Recent, Polished, Straightforward Rock Mode” Coheed song generator. It’s great they’ve stayed RELEVANT and BELOVED but this is quite literally formulaic and cliche. Again, when you love a band, then it doesn’t even matter if it is or isn’t! Let’s just not be delusional here. Or rather, listen to other pop rock bands in this style? You’ll find that if you took out Claudio’s voice, it would be very close to indiscernable from any late stage career song from bands whose biggest fame was in the early 2000’s. It’s not a diss, just reality.

I was able to finally see Coheed for the first time in my life in Pioneertown, then again in Vegas, so I heard them play this live before listening to the studio version. This song kicks so much ass, and seeing them live was an amazing experience that every cotf should go through. Been one among the Fence since Blood Red Summer, always will be.

This sounds like something you'd hear during the credits of an sci-fi action movie or video game. Love the atmosphere of it.

Liars It's the fear that wakes us up The truth that things are such a mess Far beyond repair Your mind outta service Hard to find the words worth saying What we do to deserve this Everything seems broken when you look at it that way Oh, it's a disease And there ain't no cure Oh, the truth is such a bore Oh, do you want me to lie? 'Cause I could do it, baby, I could do it Lie to you Please ask me to 'Cause life feels so much better When we just avoid the truth Baby are you okay To lie with me? Deep in disgrace, with empty retreats Farther than it seems to be The older I creak the pain in my body Longing for the things in my teens Well, I guess I'll accept this garbage Death behind the wheel with my momma staring Jealousy here in the backseat Oh, do you want me to lie? 'Cause I could do it, baby, I could do it Lie to you I'm begging you 'Cause life feels so much better When we just avoid the truth Baby are you okay To lie with me? Baby, are you okay? Oh are you okay with it? Baby, are you okay? Okay with it? 'Cause I can do it baby Oh, 'cause I can do it Oh, 'cause I can do it Oh, do you want me to lie? 'Cause I could do it, baby, I could do it Lie to you Please ask me to 'Cause life feels so much better When we just avoid the truth Baby are you okay To lie with me? 'Cause I could do it, baby, I could do it Lie to you I'm begging you 'Cause I'd feel so much better When we just avoid the truth Baby are you okay To lie with me?

Been a fan for about 10 years now, give or take a couple, and the music just keeps getting better! And yes, I'm including the 'hot take', 'black sheep' albums like YotBR and the non-concept TCBtS.

Once again, the boys have done it. Creating something uniquely original, while still hitting you in all the right places. If only there were more people able to create like this. But alas, then Coheed wouldn't be as truly special as they are. Thank you for being who you are.....
