D4 cutscenes felt like they didn't belong. The main character was not tied to the 2nd half the story. You always watched it in flashbacks or "remote" viewing. It felt like the CG team did their job, but the programmers didn't know how to include the MC.

Look I'm as big a D4 hater as anyone else lol, but this talk he did is really not accurate at all. Yes the MTX is expensive, but there's ZERO P2W, and him saying the MTX is "Thrown in your face" is completely and utterly false and clearly comes from a "hater" perspective and not someone who actually plays the game. The store is hidden away in the menus and you basically NEVER see it unless you click on it, I've never seen a single promo put in my face or anything like that. I paid for the battlepass once bc I was curious and with that I've been able to pay for 2 more battlepasses without spending more money, and tbh, the battlepass is never shoved in your face unless you go to the season screen, and it's also completely unnecessary and truthfully, entirely worthless. Like, seriously, the MTX in D4, while obscenely expensive, is extremely mild and absolutely never gets in the way of the gameplay, and you're basically missing absolutely nothing by not paying up. Hell, the cosmetics only even look notable when on the character selection screen, in-game you can barely tell and I swear in my entire time playing D4 I've seen like 2 ppl with paid cosmetics. I get PoE is free, but the stash tabs are actually required, and while it's obviously less expensive than paying full $70 for D4, it's also a bit disingenuous and insidious to try to pass PoE as a free game when everyone knows stash tabs and convenience are basically required, that's worse than the MTX in D4 in my opinion. Luckily LE doesn't suffer from this problem and just charges you a straight up price, which is a practice I find more honest than what PoE does. The problem with D4 is that it's not a particularly good aRPG lol, but that's a different story, completely unrelated to its business model, which I truly doubt is working at all. Nobody buys the skins.

I played PoE for the first time recently and I got to yellow maps without paying anything and I'm a massive hoarder, then I wanted to finish the atlas and do red maps so I waited for a week to get some stash tabs for 15$. How is that worse than a 70$ dollar game that is inferior in almost every single way and has a lot less content and flaws that are permanently ignored by the devs who are more concerned about launching an expansion, quite probably for top dollar too, while also having a battlepass and cosmetics that cost the same or more than the base game wich is already overpriced. I agree D4 is not p2w, but that's pretty much it, it is still a Blizzard milking machine designed to steal the kidneys of their playerbase.

@Kross415 like I said D4 has lots of problems, but scummy monetization ain't really one of them. Its really expensive, but not scummy. Obviously PoE is cheaper, but my point is that the practice of putting your game out as free only to later introduce a pay for convenience mechanic that is basically mandatory, once the player is already hooked (and thus, is likely to pay) is scummy in its essence. Obviously PoE is the "better" arpg especially if you're a hardcore no lifer with the game.

poe is FREE to play at the start, Now if you want extra or extra stash tabs, then yes you will pay. D4 is all about pointless cosmetics and nothing useful. D4 sales nothing of value but hideous cosmetics

I found d4 to be boring. Pretty but boring. Also only 4 skill slots with summons taking up a permanent spot on the task bar. Not exactly a game that encourages diverse builds there.
