The result of this is that the Coimbatore Pollachi route is under the control of the Palakkad division, so far it has been delaying the operation of trains on that route by not giving traffic clearance. Railway administration and political leaders have so far made no effort to increase the operation of new express trains from Salem Railway Junction, a long-standing demand of the people.
