The 1 oz silver eagles are some of the largest coin rings that I make. And because of that I decided to make them 2 different ways. The first way is the standard method and the second way I took a bit of bulk out of the inside and finished it like a regular ring. Which way would you rather have?
You can check them out here on my website!

I have been watching your videos for a honestly a long time. I have always wanted a coin ring. My wife got me a morgan ring for this past xmas. Well I was hooked, bought some tools and I just made my first ring tonight!! It fits, it doesn't wobble on the table, I have a little bit of damage from the dyes but only a little, and it fits!! I"m so pumped dude, I love it, thanks for sharing all this information that you do!!!!

Hi Skyler, just received my 1878 Morgan and it's so big and beautiful. You did a great job and it didn't take you long. People I'm sure will definitely notice my new coin ring. Thanks again!

One things for sure I think the polished inside might make the ring a little more comfortable though you are taking off more material.

I just came across your videos. Love your work. Where do you get all your tools from. I wouldn't mind making a couple of rings with some of my silver and gold.

Both are beautiful. I learn something new every time you show your process. For example it didn't bother you at all that the initial bend went "wrong" on both ( a bit of a wobble ) as that issue was sorted by putting them through the Swedish wrap. I suppose it comes down to the person. A person who likes to show and tell will want the detail on the inside. "Yes...this really was a coin...".

Thanks! I have noticed that quite a few people talk to be about the initial fold going wobbly and try to fix it before they keep going. And most of the time it gets worse. I always ignore it at that stage and it usually does correct itself in the Swedish wrap or once you start sizing. I’m also pretty surprised that most people rather have coin rings the traditional way vs the polished inside! I really like the polished inside but I’m definitely in the minority.

Hi Tyler….You are a constant inspiration for me in coin making!!! Question….Before you place in Liver of Sulfur, where do you get or make your pickling solution???? Thank You…Dr Bob

I use bench basics smart pickle from Pepe tools. You mix the granules with water and heat it up before throwing your rings in.

Beautiful rings...to anyone who aspires to try this. Note: its impossible without a drill press. Quarters are doable, half dollars are difficult, but Morgans are impossible without that press.

Yeah a press is really important for those larger coins for sure.

Q: what do you think about using a stone tumbler (polisher) to clean annealed rings? Thanks in advance for your opinion.

I used to do that when I first started too. But cleaning it with a pickle solution is quicker and not abrasive like a tumbler is.

Wondering about the tool you use to shave the material from the hole you made? What are they called? Great stuff! Enjoyed your video

Have taken a break from coin ring making (doing a lot of woodworking), but need to make a ring for a family member. Of course, the first place I go to for a refresher course is your videos. I even was fortunate enough to chat with you on the phone some time ago and you were generous with your time. Anyway, just wanted to thank you for the amazing videos you have put out. I even spent time watching the shop build. You are definitely a person of many, many talents. Take care

Hi Tyler, is that a 6 ton press? I have a one ton but some thick coins (usually not silver) are difficult to press and fold using the one ton
@CoinRingsfromTheMint
@CoinRingsfromTheMint 10 ай бұрын
Yes the 6 ton is hugely helpful for harder to bend coins. I pretty much only use mine for Morgan’s and other larger coins. Half dollars and below are just fine in the 1 ton.

Thanks man. You and Justin are my inspiration. I make a bunch of coins for family and friends and have yet to sell one but hopefully it’s in the future. Hopefully just enough to pay for the hobby. Thank you always
