PCGS is incentivized to have price guides higher than what non CAC coins sell for because they profit off a percentage of high value coins based on their own guide.

The comments of the 'stacker' and Russ's unfamiliarity was entertaining. Stacker = Slang; Accumulator of whatever for wealth protection purposes. I agree with the comment made that it does make sense to 'stack' Double Eagles for wealth preservation. The 'bullion' coins do have their own nature and opportunities. If you collect what you like, there are many beautiful sculptures and portraits to be collected.

I agree! Never saw a .9 or a .999 or a .9999 gold piece I didn't like! Some are more beautiful than others. These Pre-33 coins are something special, though.

I appreciate the well informed and helpful information in the video! While I am more of a 'stacker' (not meaning I like to stack the coins upon each other! Heh, heh!), I do appreciate the beauty and value of fine numismatic coins. I have one each of common date, raw Liberty (1904) and St Gaudens (1914) double eagles, rated at BU and VF, respectively. The St. Gaudens is pretty baggy, but I hold these coins more dear than my bullion gold coins/rounds. There is something very special about them. I do have a few nice Morgans and Peace dollars, and others, but I'm not really a serious numismatic collector. Thanks for the insights!

Buying it already certified. lmao Only real collectors could, or maybe should, buy certified coins. The collector needs to certify coins. Third party grading companies don't do much for the average collector, other than take the fun out of collecting, and at best, make what should be a hobby, a for-profit static stream of income. If your collecting coins as a short term investment you are being suckered by the industry. Remember, coin collecting is the hobby of Kings. Good luck.

CAC is a rip-off scam , a coin only needs to be graded once if done properly . CAC should be graded on how they cover the bar code on slabs with there stupid stickers.

Coin grading has hurt the hobby in my opinion. It's all about getting the right slab or sticker for registry points. Absolutely gorgeous coins are deemed junk because some schmuck called it cleaned over a few scratches. Lastly, most collectors never learn to grade themselves.

Good information, but very poorly put together, gaps in audio and disorganized flow between 2 presenters. Could have been done half time with same information. You always glamorize PCGS and NGC, but MS 64 is still 64 it does not matter what holder. Sometimes cost, delays and bad information at big guys and poor call service collector's universe for PCGS is so frustrating that it is not worth it to the small guy. By the time you learn system you have no more coins to submit. Dealers are the ones making the money by the economies of scale by coins submitted.
