Excellent Explanation. All the best.
@JaiPravu888 ай бұрын
While I appreciate this explanation, one thing that saddens me to see lately is people of Bangladesh selling and buying a cheap version of jamdani designed fabric. I invest a lot of my time & resource while collecting every piece of jamdani I own & yes some of them do fall into the exclusive category but lately those high end jamdani designs have been replicated on a cheaper muslin fabric that’s being sold in the market at less than a fraction of the original jamdani, our sellers and buyers encouraging this sort of practice will only discourage people like us to invest in this product that we want to preserve. If we want this product to go up in value we need to discourage the replicas, thank you coke studio for sharing this piece of our history
@SuperSpring098 ай бұрын
Simple economics- Supply and demand
@JaiPravu888 ай бұрын
@@SuperSpring09 I am aware of that & this is why I didn’t blame any one party I blamed both consumers and sellers. Jamdani is the most exclusive product we have to give out to the world and if we do not keep it up in value no one else will, it was one thing if we didn’t have original jamdani in budget friendly range but we do and they are accessible to many, if we can spend thousands in Pakistani or Indian brands we definitely have the purchasing power to spend it on something that’s our own.

Thanks for explaining the history of this fabulous art. But while telling the story, the producer should have paid attention to the script, either English or Bangla. I know, she's speaking in her own way but these words need to reached to a greater audience. Coke studio is a great platform for this and need to carefully work on the language part of storytelling.

And from ancient time till now Jamdani is produced only in this particular region Murshidabad doesnt need to be included in the history of Jamdani Im sure Murshidabadi silk/cotton textiles beared its burn due to britishers but then yet then again its another story to be told
