Yesterday...I was randomly watching coke studio videos and I just opened this. Initially I thought ok...(it could be just like any other song) but after 0:32 I was not able to stop this song. And it's my 8th time and finally I've made this comment. I'm seriously not getting who should I praise...the singers...the chorus...the orchestra...Everybody seems to be delve into the soul of music. I'm just spellbound ! Thanks coke studio for this lovely song! It made my day.

If you like high energy Punjabi wedding songs you would love this number! From the soulful rendition of Aaqa, Shuja Haider experiments with a diametrically opposite genre here! He has been very creative in retaining the original feel, but at the same adding some electronic sounds and make it feel modern. The choice of vocalists too is brilliant with both Naeem Abbas Rufi & Meesha Shafi doing justice with their powerful vocals which the song demanded. The arrangement is as grand and lively as a typical big-fat Punjabi wedding! The various instruments come together beautifully to give the overall feel. Shuja also uses synth to create the pseudo-brass section that fills the air giving the band-wala feel along with the dhol of-course. The drum-work and bass-line is perfectly done. Loved the brief section at 3.35 when instruments go silent for a while with guitars, dholak and harmonium progressively coming in before the arrangement gets back to the original grandeur. The backing vocalists too do a great job not just joining the main vocalists but also reflecting that festive mood of a wedding! A great composition and I am sure you would demand this one to be played in the next wedding you attend! :)

Real punjabi culture is in Pakistan.. We can see an example of this here.. They r taking so care and have restored our punjabi culture.. Else in Punjab we are making and listening to songs like gal nahi kadni and all waste.... This is real singing... India has good singers but all they are doing is recreating old songs....

Hands Down, the Coke Studio seasons from across the border have time and again demonstrated the depth, diversity and talent of the Pakistani singers. I hope the rest of the world (including us on this side of the border) realize, appreciate and acknowledge the immense artistic talent that Pakistan has produced over the years. There is so much that this country can offer the world and yet the world seems hell bent on branding the rather culturally rich country for all reasons wrong. We (on both sides of the border) need to shed the idea of letting thy neighbour rot, since we would then only be ensuring that we would have to live in a rotting neighbourhood. Open the borders, let the common man and woman meet, build bonds and quash prejudices - this is when we will realize we have too much in common and too little by way of differences.
