Now, that's what I call: A bassline you'd expect only Coki to make.

And yet the best producers stayed underground (big ups to DMZ crew!) which is WHY everyone who appreciates real dubstep hates he-who-must-not-be-named. He branded and commercialised a real gem in the music industry... and then gutted it alive for profit.

ive only listened to one skrillex tune and thought it wasnt too bad. it was better than alot of 'dubstep' coming out nowadays. but on a musical level its absolutely no match to the original, experimental, deep bass tracks like coki, loefah, skream etc.. this is fucking incredible music.

hello everyone! ive been trying to remember this dub/dubstep artist for ages. all i remember is in one of the song names it had "*something* of the rising sun" i think? something similar. and i think it had an album cover of some animal roaring while looking at the sky, like a wolf but it was maybe a lion or something totally different. i dont remember the artists name whatsoever but i do remember in the same song that had "of the rising sun" in the title, there was a sample in it that had goku or gohan from dragon ball z screaming "kamahamaha" really fast right before a small dub drop. was mainly dub than dubstep i think. was kinda like magnetic man or mainly skream. or some older dub artists before dubstep got more aggressive in the 2010s. many thanks!]

I only recently started listening to dubstep but I love many different artists and different styles of the genre. I don't really know the tiny technical differences and I really don't understand why everyone has to argue about this shit. I just love THE MUSIC. I like this slow type of dubstep AND the type that, as you said, goes "wubwubwubwub". You don't have to have exceptional knowledge of the genre just to enjoy the music. Can't we all just get a-bong?

Yea I feel you, Defenitely prefer 'old-school' Dubstep over the new brostep... The essence of the production is sooo much different. I really really like BSE, I sooo want to thank you for that, exactly what i needed, and they're from Holland too, so could easily go see them. I already listened noisa, really like sub focus' old stuff too. Always thought EDM was so flat and boring (came rom metalscene). But oldschool DnB and Dubstep is so sick. If you got reccomendations, keep em coming (: thanks

Oh nice! I used to listen a lot to grunge-like music and stoner. Big fan of Opeth, especially the last album 'Heritage', glad they dropped the grunting. Ever seen them live? they are amazing. You happen to make music yourself too? Buying a simple controller at the end of this summer, maybe a pad too. I'm in a band as well, on guitar. Hope to go see more of the DnB scene here, maybe going to some raves... Are there 'raves' with artists like mala and coki? its often only rave-like DnB/Dubstep.
@mishabruml13 жыл бұрын
@subvandals its a bit of square bass, yeh obvs sine sub as u said, sounds like maybe annother square/triangle on top an octave up but detuned slightly to make it edgy. bit of reverb and compression and there u go. basses are normally simpler to recreate than u think, just mess around with whatever you use, using a simple synth with 2 or 3 oscillators.

it's basically dubstep, but instead of it being like this it's got kick-you-in-your-face mid-synths in it, and some highs
