She is from there. That is why she is a Col. when Nassazi who joined in 1982 at the age of 12 and fought all battles from Luwero , to Tooro , to Mbarara , to capture Kampala , Jinja , Eastern and northern regions ... is a retired poor Sargent.

Col. Joyce Kabanyoro greetings! I couldn't believe when I saw the video . My image was still on the 30 years back of little tiny girl of 001 Long Cadet Officer. I am the Cadet Officer one whom the TZ instructors used to refer as "Mwandisi wa Habari ya Rais". Indeed l was the Personal News reporter to the President when I joined 001 Long Cadet Officers' course and from Presidential Protection Unit (PPU) which today is SFC. If you can remember, l am Cadet Officer Okuku NM but I am Professor NM Okuku now. Sorry to hear that Oliver Ssempa died. Where are your other colleagues, like Christina Nyangoma, Akello, Kassande, Nuliet, and another whom you used to walk with, (name forgotten). I congratulate for going through ranks while being deployed in various areas and tasks. We were young people right from the Bush War and to alternate our guerrilla warfare mindset to become commanders of conventional soldiers was hectic to TZ instructors as of our colleagues were semi educated. By the time PPU sent me for Cadet course, I had just returned to PPU after completing a full year Journalism course at Uganda School of Journalism awaiting graduation. Just some months after I completed Cadet, redeployed back PPU and continued with my work as news reporter to the President the message came from CPC under the Late Lt. Col. Sseruwanga Lwanga, that I was among the officers selected to go for the university studies in USA. That was no more military but proper academic class work. I later extended my studies from Bachelor, Master to PhD which UPDF was not happy with when I returned and reported at Bombo. Frankly, I returned thinking that with PhD in public policy I would help the army. Unfortunately, it did not please my bosses. Anyway, to cut the story short, with all that massive amount of Uganda tax payers money, which took me to Uganda School of Journalism, Uganda School of Infantry, and then to support my 3 universities education in USA. I received all these due to being in NRA/UPDF. What pains me the most is that it the foreign countries are benefitting. All in all, I am glad to know that you are still alive and doing well. I know many of our comrades are dead but some are still there such as David Muhoozi, Dick Olum, Sam Okiding, Joseph Musanyufu to mention but few. I am proud to be with you as comrades.

Gwe welimba bwelimbi. Omusajja is a better option for infantry than a woman. Omusajja talina excess bagage nga mukazi. Talina mabeere, talina kabina tagenda mu messes buli mwezi. So he is more mobile and available than a woman. Abakazi mwetaaga specialised units nga Air force, medics, mortalised etc

At least she is a Col. If she was a Muganda and not a Mutooro , she would have been forced to retire as a Sargent .

@@user-lq2fb8ow4fin Army ranks and promotions are earned not given. It's not about I come first. It depends on many things education, discipline, training, and hard work all matter. Prof. Okuku is a good example of that even though she left the army she gained from it which Sgt Nalumansi.
