What goes on with Windows after each clip Windows 1.0: Can't find Windows startup files - will not boot. Windows 2.0: Can't find Windows System. Please insert in drive A - might not boot after reboot. Windows 3.0: Cannot find Sound.DRV. Please insert in drive A - might not boot after reboot. Windows 3.1: Almost nothing wants to start - might not boot after reboot. Windows 95: Error, then desktop goes black, then error a couple of times, then the OS is gone. Windows NT 4.0: Almost nothing wants to start, then after reboot, it says the kernel is missing. Windows 98: Runs just fine before reboot, then after reboot, it says VMM32.VXD is required to run Windows and is missing. Windows 2000: Most stuff is based on Windows XP and almost nothing wants to start, then after reboot, it keeps crashing. Not to mention that it's impossible to run quite a few of these older versions of Windows on pretty much all modern hardware, mostly due to the fact that the drivers you would need just don't exist. It's also just way faster to run the multiple installations you are destroying on virtual machines and the clean up job is not only far easier, but you don't have to recover the host machine afterwards.
