Here is what someone who has inside knowledge on this told me: When Ali Abdelaziz was negotiating with the UFC for letting Conor rematch against Khabib this year (whenever Khabib finishes his suspension from the upcoming NSAC hearing) he made a demand that Usman would also have to be given the next title shot against Woodley as a stipulation. If Dana refused, Khabib would do what Woodley does and hold on to his belt for as long as possible and only fight the bare minimum. He probably dangled the possibility of the Khabib vs Mayweather boxing match over Dana's head. The Khabib/Conor rematch is going to generate so much money, Dana does not give a shit about who fights for the WW title next, so he accepted. Usman was willing to wait to fight the winner of Tyron and Colby, but now all of a sudden after it gets announced that Khabib will rematch Conor in 2019, suddenly Usman is inexplicably green-lit to fight Woodley for the championship instead of Colby. Ali A. has a LOT of pull because of Khabib, and to a lesser extent, Henry Cejudo with a championship fight coming up soon. If Usman wins the belt from Tyron, Ali Abdelaziz has more pull than anyone. I personally think that there is also probably an angle to having Conor get his undeserved rematch by passing up Ferguson as next in line against Khabib. Khabib was just saying that he cares about legacy, not money. Now Ali Abdelaziz is on social media saying Khabib just wants a money fight and wont fight Tony next. Conor is the money fight. Tony looked incredible against Pettis and is the only legitimate threat against Khabib. Why risk fighting Tony when you can rematch with Conor and make tens of millions?

Only possible logical explanation I can figure is that Dana must really Hate Woodley......doesn’t want him Headlining his own card, Colby wouldn’t have agreed to fight on Jon’s card, so he makes Usman fight knowing he can patch things with Colby later. If that’s all true, lesson of the day is : Don’t publicly call your boss a racist because you can’t sell PPV’s, and don’t think the person who is the most powerful in your chosen profession can’t hurt your career. If Woodley loses at 235, he’ll be hidden away and only offered to fight up and comers who don’t match up with him well. Then Colby vs Usman happens and all is forgotten......this is only thing I can figure out about how this makes any sense !

I tbink colby is a cock and that so aint sticking up for him because im a fan but the ufc doctors apparently wouldn't clear him and even if they would I understand alot of fighters fight with worse injurys but don't see why they should have to risk there health, in any other job people would say put your health first on top of that if I was a fighter and got a title shot I'd want to be in good health with no injurys to give me the best opertunity, as a fan aswell I'd rather see the best version of fighters when there in the octagon and your going to get a better chance of that when there not injured. Colby has been fucked over and so have we. I want to see Woodley beat his ass. This doesn't make much sense in my eyes, the ufc should put the fans and sport before there petty differences with fighters
