very dark lyrics. I always thought it was, "with the money I saved - gonna buy my youth again" as in, he's gonna give it one last impulsive shot at the moon, packing in the factory job and just laying down the rubber road to freedom, like the Toecutter.

Harmonicas bore me to tears. You know they're tuned a certain way for each key, so you can't really play anything wrong - you just have to suck and blow and the shit will play itself.

the finest example of Aussie Rock you will ever see, Cold Chisel, so many talented men performing like a well oiled machine. as the guys said, when they are on stage at the same time, something magical always happens. one of the biggest reasons why i love Cold Chisel, certainly one of the greatest live acts we have ever produced.

I was at this concert and possibly one of the younger in the crowd; the electricity from the audience was amazing as everyone around me knew every word and nuance. I have seen James brown, U2, Lenny kravitz, killers and many other bands but nothing compares to the chisels live.

RIP Steve (drummer), thanks Mossy, Barnesy, Don, Phil and Dave - what an outfit....was blessed to have been at many memorable concerts - Newcastle Workers linger long in the memory..everyone in attendance going home drenched with sweat, classic song after song of blisteringly hot Oz rock - nothing today comes close. Should have conquered the world, but kind of glad you didn't, those that were there know how special you were...and we were to enjoy you....thanks

Cant wait for them to play this next year in New Zealand on their 50 year tour. They deserved world wide recognition at their prime as good as any band on the planet. If only they had made it in USA another Australian superstar band as good as ACDC

Ian & Jimmy; their voices just melded in harmony. they sooo complemented each other. They were truly the greats of Aussie rock. I know, I saw them all the time when they played the pubs of Melbourne. Don't question me!

i won't question you, i saw them twice in Adelaide for the Light the Nitro tour and at Deniliquin, they played this song each time and the entertainment centre was on fire that night, but at Denilquin it was like the who place erupted, best concerts i have ever been too,

Roy Mustang Aussie music pub nights were never concerts. They were playing week by week to earn some money. Back in the 70's & 80's that's all they could do. Sooo many aussie bands, sooo many pub crawls, sooo awesome (hate that word 'awesome'!) But they were! xx

u guys r all taking this personal.. its only rock n roll but i like. all bands u mention like all others have their changes in line up n tone but we always remember the moment that that song or sound made us stand up and identify with something we could never explain. music is the most crucial art and to be able to replicate live vs studio is the true measure and one that oz bands are very good at.

"Bow River. A small outpost between Kununurra and Hall's Creek, the term river being an exaggeration - it's actually a very small creek. Written by lan Moss, who grew up in Alice Springs, Bow River is a song about the desert and the tropical rain and its hold on the men who live there. Ironically, although a son of the territory, Moss had never been to Bow River, however his brother Peter, a roadie for the group in the early years, worked there."
