@@randalledwards9793 I was referencing Johnathan Davis and fred durst. Not cold. Cold biggest hit was stupid girl. I know their success was somewhat limited. But still having 2 of the biggest rockstars of the late 90s and early 00s cameo in your video is indeed A BIG DEAL!!!!!!

His sister got cancer right after they toured for this first album, and lost all her hair. Scooter shaved his head so she didn't have to feel like a "freak". She died before 13 ways was completed and he said he would never ever grow it back in her honor. Most of Year of the Spider and Different kind of Pain is about her and her struggles with losing faith and ultimately losing her life.

I remember buying Cold's first album on a demo tape for £5 from my local record store, solely on the basis of a review I had read in a magasine. I was totally hooked, and bought the album on CD the day it was released. The imagery in the songs was (and still is) incredible, covering a whole range of cheery topics from schizophrenia to drug addiction. I've just dug out my old battered CD copy, and am going to reminisce on my teen years for a while :-)

They had everything. The sound. The vision, the feel. I can only imagine they were goaded into installing that horrendous spoken word aspect, at the break. This is what happens when artists let their vision be superseded. I don’t know that happened. I just know there is a lot of feeling in here that gets flooded by aspects of its time. Seriously, wtf is that spoken word bit??? Fucking hell. You had it all. You had me, and still do. Though what should have been a recommendation shall forever be a guilty pleasure.
