If you reheat it in the oven for about 15 - 20 minutes, it's not too bad. Air fryer would make it crispy again, though!

I had a similar experience with barbecue food a few years ago when a few family members and I were on a long drive. Even though it was semi recent, I can't recall where we were going or whether or not it was on the trip there or back, but I just remember being in this one spot on some back road of Alabama at a barbecue place that was built out of a building that looked like it was previously a house. Best barbecue I've had in my life, that I can recall. I've never been a particularly big fan of barbecue, but man, it was damn delicious. I regret not paying attention to the name of the place at the time. I'd gladly take a 30 minute detour on another road trip for a plate of that food again.

Dude I'm from Carbondale and I know exactly which place you're talking about. And it is quite literally is the best fucking fried chicken ever. It's called Bottom's Up (in Jacob), or as we like to call it, Beer N Chicken. On Wednesdays they have $3 half or $6 whole fried chicken, and most domestic beers are $1-2. Absolute fucking steal.

Science actually. If you were to heat the chicken up the grease expands and fingers go back greasy. When you put the chicken in the fridge the grease condenses and the chicken absorbs the grease. Therefore the chicken appears less greasy. Other than the fact some did run off into the wax paper but yeah still a grease hazard lol

You should try the Cholula sweet Habanaro sauce if they have it out there, it has a sweet and spicy element, it's so good on fried chicken. I have definitive moment with a steak sandwich that I've had maybe a handful of times, it's not your average everyday steak sandwich, it has sweet peppers that are actually sweet and the sauce I believe is kinds sweet too, it's perfect, it's the best sandwich I've ever had in my life but I don't know where to find it. So maybe I'll make it my mission to find it, because I can't stop thinking about it, so I can definitely relate.

trust me airfryer method is worth it. the yucky super oily flappy skin bits get crispy and its just less oily overall (and crispier)
