I think the key in swirling is the texture of soap batter. I have spoilt my swirls and the whole thing because the soap had thickened after reaching trace too quickly
@TreeMarieSoapworks
@TreeMarieSoapworks 3 жыл бұрын
You are right, the texture matters. 💕 I usually only stick blend till an emulsion is reached. Then patience is needed to wait for the proper trace.

I tried to make some simple feathered shapes in my soap, but it keeps solidifying too early. Once I used both the oil and the lie at room temperature and mixed all by hand, but then the soap remained very soft. how do you slow down the saponification to have time for all these complex shapes?

so in case my question was unclear I was wondering will dish soap make better suds with distilled water or do you not have any ideas ? thank you
@TreeMarieSoapworks
@TreeMarieSoapworks Жыл бұрын
Warm, softened water makes the best suds. I don't see how that would work with a fire extuinguisher though.

You are an inspiration. Two questions, 1st, how do you get such liquidy soap to make these designs? Rarely does my soap stay at such a thin trace. 2nd, I have a ph digital tester, right now it is showing my soap at about 10.3 so say it's find and others are saying too high. What do you think?
@TreeMarieSoapworks
@TreeMarieSoapworks 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Brenda. If you are using a normal recipe and superfat, don't worry about what the tester says. I don't find the testers to be very accurate. You have to dilute it in water and test it, so just double-check that you are doing it right. Have you joined my group? You can ask the other question there. facebook.com/groups/treemariesoapworks/

I’ve poured soap like that last clip where it’s all just dots. My hands cramped up so quickly. Luckily I had a friend help me & she cramped up also. It was a 20lb slab mold so that didn’t help. Also soap started to harden up. I will try it soon again with 5lb mold instead of 20lb mold.
