The condensation CAN be fixed. Put the Venturi tube at the TOP of the canister and the steam will rise the same. Then on the exit tube another vertical condensation extraction tube with a drip glass jar at the bottom. The steam will exit with the smoke, rise through the condensation tube while the steam cools it will drip down into the glass while the smoke keeps going up and out the exit pipe.

sadly but not ... Smoke daddy has tube in upper side - way more problem then with my generator. I still have somewhere old Smoke Daddy. Making another collector - who will be cleaning tubes ?? i just need to clean one short.

I have one similar to your description. It's a true cold smoke generator. 16 pounds and over 30 inches tall but works well

I have the same issue when my lid is open condensation is so much and even after 1-2hours my fire goes out. I keep them dry indoors, but still not burning.. Have you tried drying your chips in the oven before smoking it? Some people it says it helps a lot, I might need to try that

i heard about it - never did. Usually i go to check how smoke is going every 30 - 40 min . That's when i open lid and shake condensation to the side - you can even wipe that with paper towel. Humidity of the air is bad factor - especially when it is raining.

@@ReallySmoking yes I noticed that, I've previously smoked only in nice sunny days, but still after 1-2h my smoker dies and walls with lid seem to have lots of moisture. Now I will try drying my chips even more in the oven and then light them up, thanks! 👌

I would just run it without the lid or order a chimney cap from a pellet grill, the chips are gravity feeding anyways. Probably could buy a 1 BBL carburator air filter housing and make a breathable cap.

What's the Masterbuilt model? is it a 40 in or a 30 in propane smoker? Any recommendations?

all depends how big batches you planning to do - if big i would go 40. Models changing - so i would say buy on sale and be ready to buy another 3-5 years later - they getting rusty and eventually you will change them.

I've seen this smoking cabinet for sale. It doesn't have a hole for the external smoke generator. Did you drill it yourself and if so, was it easy to get through? Thanks

Where does the ash go how do you clean it out?

It is a very good question ... it is just on the bottom of Fire Chamber ... it is not a problem to generate smoke for 2-4 hours and ashes will not interfere, but if you want to continue generate smoke you can just lightly clean thru the same air flow opening - aches will be falling on the ground. After each smoking usually you will demount unit and just clean it - i store my unit in plastic bucket, so i'm able to clean it after every use ... and that tray under unit actually is to catch falling ashes ...

So its not cold smoke its hot smoke the exhaust has to be up from fire and longer for cold smoke

hot smoke it to big chamber - add tray of ice and it will be cold smoke ... Cold smoke is counted up to 35 degrees of C ... i believe
