Great video. I did not expect to own a Cold Steel knife, but I bought this one while I am waiting for another drop of the Andrew Demko AD-20. I agree with your opinion - it's a great knife at an incredible price. It can be easily flicked open or Spydie flicked, and as you said, it drops shut. I also like that it is ambidextrous. The only issue I have found so far is that the contact point of the pin at the end of the yoke that runs along the polished rounded end of the blade before dropping into the notch to lock the blade can make the travel rough when anything gets in the way like dirt, lint, etc. Otherwise, after disassembling it and cleaning it out, it is really smooth.

Cold Steel is doing some awesome things. I think they are the New ZT. ZT has lost its luster. All they do lately is put out different knife variations and act like its a new release. Just finally ordered my Code 4 to go with my Prolite and looking at some others. This is definitely a working mans knife.

ZT fit and finish, materials and overall execution is miles and away better than Cold steel. I do however agree ZT is not making me say, wow any more.

@@deadpoollee9497 they discontinued several fantastic models and are leaning toward the "refined higher end EDC" personally their hinderer designs and large sinkevich designs are the only thing they offer I am interested in. That new micro folder they made is ridiculous.

I returned mine about 5 minutes after I got it in hand. The forward finger choil is just too small, I was riding up on the sharpened portion of the blade. And the g-10 is for sure a pocket ripper.

I still own the original cs recon 1 when it had the axis lock. Deff a fidget factor. In my opinion when they switched to the tri-ad lock they should have called it something else and not a recon 1. As it changed the locking mechanism and made the knife much thinner.

I can't believe yours is that loose. Mine was super tight, I had to remove the Teflon washers and adjust the pivot. My lock is crazy hard to pull back too.

I bought a bag of springs and then took it apart and tried different sizes and cut them to different lengths. Found the perfect one and mine is as smooth as butter.

Just Ritt Dye the scales black , easy peasy. You could lightly sand the scales before you dye them. Kevin Cleary will be jealous , he doesn't have his yet 🤣

This thing is growing on me, but call me boring, I just don't like the funky handle colour and texture! Same as how they gave the S35vn Code 4 that strange 'champagne' coloured aluminium. A future version with a plain old black and aluminium handle would be a definite buy!

Nope. But remember that it has two pivots if you adjust it. The yoke has its own fivot.

I am concerned about the intrusion of the blade tang into the finger choil in the open position. Is it as extensive as it looks?

Never even noticed it until you mentioned it. I haven't done anything heavy duty yet, though. But cutting cardboard and stuff it was fine.

@@SliceyDicey, it looks like it may be an issue if you use a forward grip. On a knife with an over sized choil I tend to ride the front half of the choil with my thumb more forward than normal. Just to choke up a little.

Did you adjust the pivot or lube it? Mine is tight and doesnt fall shut, been trying to break it in. If that doesnt work i will adjust it

Mine was stiff as a coffin nail. My scorpian lock is also super tight. I had to disassemble mine a few times to tune it and the lock is still too tight imo but it's really not adjustable

@@007Entropy the spring on the scorpion lock is very strong. Hopefully it loosens up with use. The pivot on mine cant be loosened without creating a tiny bit of blade play

Biggest issue with this AD15, as well as with the AD10, is the size of the handle.. They are not well suited for adults!
