I have one of these. Blood was dripping two minutes after opening it. Clipped me when closing it. Be very careful when handling it. Super sharp. A beast of a knife. Still love it.

Man it sure is a wicked knife. It is surprisingly light, and it is very thin, but it so wide though, it seems like it would take up a lot of pocket space. The new boxes are cool very cool though, I always like a good sturdy knife box, I always keep them in case I want to sell the knife. I am glad you made this video, I have not seen any on this knife yet.

🎼 This knife is awesome and should be carried everyday!! It is very comfortable in the pocket due to it being very thin, but the lock -up is solid & the blade has no wobble.

What did you do to adjust the pocket clip? The clip on the one I purchased was too tight to be functional. I used coins overnight (examining and adding one every 24 hours) over several days to bend the clip to a functional angle. What are some other ways of adjusting extremely stiff Cold Steel pocket clips?

Adrian Eyre it is a defensive emergency knife. the chance of using it as a self defense weapon is 1 in a lifetime, and flesh don't usually dulls a knife in one use, so your great great grand son can still use it before it gets dull.

this knife was made for personal defense, not utility. hence it won't need sharpening since human flesh isn't gonna dull it. who buys a 100+$ knife to cut open boxes.

a box cutter will do fine. I find it funny that they use 100+dollars knife if they already knew they would be cutting a lot of boxes and opening letters on a daily basis. A knife is just a backup all around cutting tool and for emergency situation.

I almost wish they did their aus8a on this one just because with a hard to sharpen blade shape a lower quality steel would be easier to sharpen. Plus how often do you really need to resharpen your self defense / tactical?

Quick question, sorry if its a simple one, but can you tell me more about the Knot you used on the Skull Lanyard on your Recon 1 in this video? Its simple, small and exactly what I've been looking for. For some reason People make Lanyards really huge, but this one is JUST perfect to have something to hold on to pull out... The handle is slim, but I got my today. This thing sticks in you hand it almost feels like you hand + knife are like Velcro. It just sticks. Very nice. I did not like the stiffness when I closed the lock but I think it will work in. I kind of think the look of the knife would deter about 60% ( cuts fucking hurt) and do some wicked damage to those who chose to be stupid.

+sum gt It means that as you take it out of your pocket the thumb plate can be used to snag on the top of the pocket and open while being drawn out of pocket. IMO its the fastest way to open a knife and its faster than assisted spring open knives.

I use crock sticks, and I keep a very keen edge...don't run your fingers over the blade unless you want to bleed! ;-)
