Great to see how well it did, before the steel was weekend before the steel pole of doom had its take at it, saw how much brick dust was flying compared to other tests, could tell it had a really good edge, honestly if the blade doesn't break after all that, then it's simply super steel, but impressive nonetheless, great job Mr. Joe

Cold Steel's hollow grind, strikes again. But to be fair this is the preferred grind for this type of knife - better slicer and lighter. The tip didn't break 'cuz is saber-flat not hollow. Maybe you could do a test on another 3 layers laminated steel - Fallkniven A1x wich is a convex grind and should be more resilient.

i will try!
@mikeborrelli1932 жыл бұрын

@torpilo2 жыл бұрын
@@mikeborrelli193 I already watch the video. First of all, I asked for Fallkniven A1x, not A1, but it seem neither of you can't read. Second, the 38 year old knife performed very well at the lateral stress (neither the tip or the blade couldn't be snapped in wood). Antd the third point - I don't care about any knife companies , and I don't have any stacks on them, but I was curios about the new Lam. Cos of Fallkniven, as the Lam.VG-10 proved to be only a wood processing steel due to his brittleness/chipping ...

Theres a guy that test ak 47, akoperatorsunion or something that uses a similer format. He doesnt just destroy them though he tests them. I'm interested in what a knife CAN DO not just what it can't. OK don't slam my Master Tanto 12 San Mai into a rock????? Uhhh Ohhh K. Good video maybe just do some let's see what it can do not just what it can't. I support these vids though and i've always found it strange nobody trolled Cold Steel by giving them a taste of there own medicine. Man, i use a Case Bowie a lot as a trainer and love slicing through soft stuff and seeing what it can do. I've started training with a Magnum Tanto 12 San Mai too and i baby my knives compared to these tests. I guess it gets you to the breaking point quick so you can say this ones stronger then the next or what ever but maybe buy another one and lets see what a knife CAN DO. Also a knife is an individual. Often a dud will break early one. I trust a knife thats been used (proof checked) and not abused. I do think i get something from these videos though and it does show how Cold Steel videos are propaganda. You could make the same videos with literaly any knife and play music and whatever. I think all this tells me more then watching stupid Yupies on KZbin buy knives and never use them though. Peace

Hi Joex, I have this simple question. I like the simple geometry of the blade and how sharp it's the recon tanto. What I really don't like about it is the handle, the rat tail tang , no metal finger guard, and we know this is a fighting knife it's a knife sometimes your life can depend on, it doesn't really need to be robust and heavy, but rat tail tang make me doubt, this is one major thing, second thing is, there's 3 different steeles in the versions of this knife, the rest is all identical , the difference in price is, $70 sk5 steel, $199 san mai vg10 and $220 for the 3v, no unbreakable steel that you know of. Which one you will be able to suggest for what they worth, quality, tactical use and the price ?
