Cold Steel has just gone in a completely wrong direction. I love my American Lawman because it was affordable, reliable, and practical. CS has drifted far away from this core concept and has started trying to chase the other big high dollar manufacturers. Real knife guys always kinda spoke about CS with their tongues in their cheeks because of all the mall-ninja crap they turned out, but they did make a few flagship models that were truly solid user knives. Those knives and “the value for dollar” were what kept them in the game. Their new stuff is just not relevant anymore.

Cold Steel started on a downward spiral the day Lynn Thompson sold it to GSM Outdoors, and Andrew Demko left, and it's even more apparent that the company's main objective is to make money, not enthusiast knives now after another conglomerate has taken over GSM. Just the fact that Cold Steel and GSM is owned by a company (Platinum Equity) whose main goal is to acquire other companies, has made Cold Steel into just another brand name with no soul. And now Cold Steel is being represented at SHOT show by a guy with the charisma and enthusiasm of a doorknob. I'm sorry to say, Cold Steel is dead, and has become a brand name with no soul.

Fortunately there are some companies now that are stepping up and that are making some really good big knives to fill in the void left by GSM’s acquisition of cold steel. TAKUMITAK is making some really good and affordable fixed blade knives and are based out of Ontario CA.

Verdict is thin but tough. Would like to see a sprint run for a 3" Voyager however,, love it's deliberately thicker handle. I have a current Mini Recon 3" which is sweet but my collection of 3" Triad Voyagers are even sweeter.

No, the sheats dont work well. We hate the sheats. They dull the blade,looks like crap and scratches the blades. Often they have a bad fit too. Eather too loose or you cant get them out.Bring back the high quality leather sheats and real kydex. Even cheap knives from China has real good fitting kydex, it is really easy to do. If it cost a little more, that is okay. The sheat is often a deal breaker when it comes to knives. And the TriAd locks are often not fitted right anymore.I bought a black and green AD10 and the lock sinks down in the grip, it is fitted wrong. Comes new with 70 years of use, thank you Cold Steel. I am a big CS fan, but sometimes you get some crap from them. GSM 👎👎 They dont care about quality or the customers, sadly.
