i just looked up both of them and obviously being a knife guy i want both, but i am currently on a part time budget. do you think the recon 1 provides the same durability and usability as the sr1? or is one definitely better?

How thick is it behind the edge? Is it a club or can it actually cut? Is a 4Max Scout gonna be a better slicer since they are close in price (give or take $20).

It cuts. Not as well as an opinel, but better than a hatchet. If you're planning to shave with it, don't.

Looks cool! I’ve had bad luck with Cold Steel knives, I’ve had their S35VN chip pretty easily twice and their Aus 8A rust a lot faster than I figure it should have. They make some pretty cool toys but I’m iffy on investing in a work tool made by them.

I don’t think these come in any other colors. I have both blade styles of the SR1 (tanto & drop point) and I’ve never seen them in any other color.

I have the Cold steel Code 4 tanto, it's an awesome knife. I've heard of the sr1 described as a knife-like object that is also a pry bar hehe. The Code 4 tanto probably has more strength then I'll ever need even in the worst situations which I like, and it has aluminum scales with no liner so it's pretty light and very thin, but the steel is still thick. Not quite as thick as the sr1 heh.

This knife made me lose my interest in fixed blades… It learned me that fixed is not necessarily anymore.. I don’t have the tanto version but i love it so much. Carry it every day with no problem.

I want one, but I don't know if I should get the lite or the full thing. Kind of like getting a ZT 0562 to only later buy a real XM-18 lol I'd probably end up with both if I started with the lite.

S35VN and G10 are preferable, but i just received the Lite and I've gotta say... its almost the same amount of satisfaction for less than 30% of the price.

The Spartan is a real battle tank for sure, one of my favourite CS knives. That handle has some weight & locks your grip in extremely well. It's almost like a dumbell with a blade attached. 😆

This is my new mission in life! TO PREVENT PEOPLE FROM EVER BUYING THIS STUPID KNIFE. The design is the most brain-dead design of any knife I have ever owned. ABSOLUTE POCKET SHREDDER!!! YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT THIS KNIFE IN YOUR PANTS AND REMOVE IT WITHOUT SHREDDING YOUR PANTS, OR EVEN THE NYLON ON YOUR BACKPACK. My credentials? I have owned and used Medfords, Chris Reeves, Hoback and Hinderer knives. My favorite EDC, Spyderco Military and Paramilitary 2. What does anyone waste their time doing a review on this knife when the first thing that should be stated, is that it is a pocket shredder. Sure, if you want to bend the clip to loosen it, or sand down the G10 under the clip, you can mod the knife. I picked mine up from the post office, took it out of the box, put it in my pocket, packaged it back, slapped on return label. End of story. BUYER BEWARE ON THIS MODEL.

The truth is that this video isn't very heavily trafficked anymore, and the only person who actually gets notifications for new comments is the channel creator (me). You cite your experiences with some of the Gucci brands and then somehow that’s supposed to correlate to a 35 dollar extra heavy duty utility knife. You’re expecting perfection for something that cost the same as two separate visits to your favorite fast food store. The knife is very robust and I’ll be buying at least five more to make an even half dozen in the near future. Take the clip off with simple tools (unlike my Microtech which was close to 350…) sand it down or leave the clip off. I’m well over 6 feet and don’t think this is a fast deploying knife. Ditch the pocket clip, case closed. If the shit really does hit the fan someday you’ll regret not having a folding fixed blade in your arsenal.
