Good to see Stick Man doing the Cold Steel routine. And good to see that Lynn Thompson and the other Cold Steel guys are still involved. Big fan from Germany here, and I'll stay a fan - as long as Cold Steel stays Cold Steel.

To me what made coldsteel , coldsteel was that everyone Lynn brought along was into martial arts. Lynn said his best designs came from sparring in the gym. What set coldsteel apart from everyone else was Lynn loving martial arts. A lot of blade makers claim to be martial arts but Lynn went and trained with everyone. Not to mention his stuff is ment to be used. Not like a lot of companies that make fancy blades that really aren’t ment to be used. Coldsteel will always hold a place in my heart and a place in my pocket

What I have ALWAYS loved about Cold Steel knives is that they have never shied away from calling their knives "Self defense, or martial blades" many manufactures will never even approach the topic. That and they make some BIG ASS folders with strong locks, nobody comes close to size and strength................Thank you Lynn and Cold Steel. I'd also like to see Keith Beam doing some future Cold Steel chopping test :)

This is allot of what I want to see. I am a martial artist and I try to have great attention to detail in regards to my Jiu Jitsu. Kung fu. Boxing etc... I look for the same attention in my gear purchases and that’s what I have love about cold steel. More training will mean better products. The only other thing I’d suggest is for him to pursue the martial arts behind these products and in the lives of the customers.

@Noah Vinkel Hansen in some categories and designs you really can't. No one else makes anything like an espada or voyager vaquero
@elihollingsworth68522 жыл бұрын
@Noah Vinkel Hansen I can't stand most of the nerd fanboys hating on cold steel but obsessing over their little spyderco/benchmade/etc. Every company has the one perfect design that they get perfectly right and do better than the competition. I'm not married to cold steel, but the taipan is the best combat dagger ever designed, and the espada and voyager are the best large folders ever designed. No competition.

Muchas gracias.

Curious thing is that even though it seems easy, swinging a sword or a large knife too hard may hurt your back if done wrong. It is necessary to have at least a minimum degree of understanding of the motion and practice, in order to do it hard and not get messed up.

I have seen a cut test with a very sharp saber but the meat was wrapped in one layer of denim. He tried 3 strokes but they all bounced off. You can cut denim normally with no problem but this combination of soft flexible underground (meat) seems to make it difficult. I tried it with denim and foam as underground. In another video he showed that you can cut bare meat even with a quite dull knife.

I have the SRK series (4/5) missing the AUS 8 model. I like their Melee weapons. The entire Brooklyn Bat series (all 7 plus a 2nd 2020 Banshee). The (Balicki) Escrima sticks/ trainer sticks. Polypropylene Jo staff and Suburito. I even like their Safe Maker I & II. But Ive had Marauder and others like it.. some boot style knives. Idk. Cold Steel is.. you get what you pay for. And you can get a lot. But when it comes to High end steel and hand made Knives (TRC). But most ppl cant afford $500 per knife. Im not even a fan of Benchmade anymore. I do like Fallkniven (also pricey). Overall though. Cold Steel has survived many of my Collection Purges. And Im clearly still buying their products. Just bought the entire Bat Series from Midway USA.
