"Cold" is the disposition of a walk home on a freezing night, hands shoved deep into your pockets for a warmth not there. That's the feeling at the end of a conversation where it's over far too soon, and you have all of the words that weren't said. It is not harsh, but soft, quiet, like a sort of sadness that one makes peace with. It was that pang for the unreachable wrapped in the quiet of a world, turned a little too far away.
