I've had mine about a week now and absolutely love it. Very solid product. It's only my 2nd HW wallet and have never used the Mk.4 so I can't compare it to that. I switched from Tangem to Coldcard Q.

Yes, it does not come with cards, you probably should order some. Free shipping for orders over 300$ so you might want to take advantage of that.

It does not come with a MicroSd card. 64gb card is the preferred size. If your Q1 doesn't recognize the card you have to format it from within the unit.

I can see alkaline batteries being an issue if someone stores this for a long time and they leak on to the device. User error, but could that render the device useless and the important date inrecoverable?

good point, guess one thing is to invest in good quality batteries... as far as important data as long as seed words and passkey are backed up securely, you should be able to recover if you buy a new HW wallet (if I'm wrong everyone please jump in and tell me I'm an idiot, don't want to spread bad info)

The real security is how you store your seed phrase anyway. This is just an air gapped seed generator and transaction signer basically.
