Its just not my kinda tipe of vibe you know? To me theres not a single song that really stands out to me, i feel like like its really boring, but i dont think its a bad album, actually its on of the most well made coldplay albuns, is just not my fav. But i love all the other ones

@@Luna.reviews my opinions changed on my list. Parachutes is even more awsome than i thought it was, everyday life is still boring😂, the other rest, yeah i love all of them except that one! My fav song from them is officially Twisted lógic, EASILY THE MOST UNDERRATED SONG FROM THEM! I mean X&Y, is what i wanted coldplay to be honestly, in Twisted Logic i can feel the pain in their eyes, The feeling "we are not this, this is not our sound" thats what i love on X&Y they at least tried you know, they didnt like it, thats fine, but they tried, They went to something i was not expecting this sound from them and it was P E R F E C T!

Coldplay’s been of my fav bands the past 13 or so years, since Viva La Vida was released. Overall, I think your list is quite fair. I do agree with some points you make, such as X&Y feeling a little lengthy at times and not always bringing any newer or interesting ideas, although I like the sound of this album, as I love the previous albums and since I like synths, synthesisers are a little more prominent on here than A Rush Of Blood. And it includes some of my all-time favs, such as “Talk”, “Square One”, “Speed Of Sound”, “The Hardest Part”, and “Twisted Logic”. Also; with Ghost Stories, I may like this album more than you do, I can see that this isn’t always enjoyable. Some songs, like “True Love” and “O” don’t always keep me focusing on the project. They’re not boring, but not the most enjoyable. Although, having Everyday Life high confuses me a tiny bit. I can see you finding interest on here, due to the experimentation and Chris sounding inspired and really trying to do well, but overall, I only enjoy at least a third of the album. Those songs are “Trouble In Town”, “Guns”, “Orphans”, “Èkó”, “Old Friends”, “Church” and “Champion Of The World”, which is my overall fav on here. It’s like a double-album that’s overestimated in quality and arrangements, but it’s still ok. Anyways here’s my ranking of all the albums. 9: Music Of The Spheres 8: Mylo Xyloto 7: Everyday Life 6: A Head Full Of Dreams 5: Ghost Stories 4: X&Y 3: Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends 2: Parachutes 1: A Rush Of Blood To The Head

Yeah my thoughts on Everyday Life always lift a few eyebrowns but i just really like the album, the songs you picked from X&Y are the ones I like the most from the album! I think I say it in the video. With Ghost Stories i like the album but idk it just disappoints me how Chris being the great songwriter he is, didn’t come up with a more immersive and complete version of his “breakup album” that’s the reason why i'm a bit rough with Ghost Stories. Great comment!!

Sometimes Parachutes tricks me into thinking its better than AROBTTH but i think its nostalgia more than anything, still love it and think its amazing.

my list: 1. Parachutes (just perfection really) 2. Everyday Life (this album is so special to me. I just love the sound and the experience this piece brings - masterpiece) 3. A Rush of Blood to the Head (amazing album) 4. X&Y (very fucking solid, this rounds out the upper tier) 5. Viva La Vida (I really enjoy this album, very good experiece overall. It could definitley go up the ranking) 6. Mylo Xyloto (I think this one is a case of liking the sound, and I like the sound of this album - also nostalgic factor) 7. A Head Full of Dreams (some good, some bad) 8. Music of the Spheres (Coloratura.) 9. Ghost Stories (I like some songs on here, but it just doesnt really do it for me. Maybe it will grow on me)

Really good list!! And yeah i mean Ghost Stories has some good songs but honestly is the most underwhelming project ever, every Coldplay album (even the ones that are not that great) feels like a trip, as if you were jumping on a rollercoaster of sounds, but Ghost Stories is exactly the opposite, it’s an album you listen to one time, like a few tunes from it and then that’s it. I’d have to disagree there- if anything I think this album has the best sound of all of their albums and also for me at least the reason I like this album so much is because some of the songs sound relatively similar but that’s what an album should be like imo

Great list! I guess my problem with X&Y it's that yes an album should stick to a similar sound to make sense (although not always) but if your album is 1hour+ you need to change the pace from time to time you know? That’s basically it for me the album starts strong but listening to songs that have the same structure, same vocal performance and same lyrical concept can get a bit boring, still every single song it’s great… it’s just imo if you’re album is that long you need some more variety. Twisted Logic overrated gem btw

I love X&Y. I think what a lot of people fail to understand is that there’s a difference between an album where each song sounds the same, and an album that is cohesive with each track. That’s exactly what X&Y is, it’s cohesive but each track is still unique which is what makes it a phenomenal record.

For info, ''Ghost Stories'' was have to check because it's was apart of the rest of the discography. Because Chris separated during the making of the album and write in this album thier most personal songs in this album. ''Ghost Stories'' was apart of the Coldplay discography, because it's was very personal and introspective. In all the songs, Chris put all of the tables his feelings and emotions about the separation and the past of his love with Gwyenth, like anger, pain, sadness. It's a total introspection who Chris delivers with this album. Chris said to make this album helped him to faced with the separation and to help to become a life with his two childrens.

Yes!! Actually this was the first album that had no tour for the same reasons! But other than the lore behind the album lyrics are quite similar to the rest of the albums so i included the album on the list. It's way more minimalistic and quiet, but in that sense I prefer Chris in Everyday Life, he wrote most of the songs alone and you can tell thanks to how confortable he sounds. Anyway both are great albums so thanks for your comment☺️

@@Luna.reviews Yes, that the charm. I think it's divised because of his electronic, ambient and synth-pop ambiance and the dark tone (musically and lyrically of the album) of the project. Many not like this album (particulary the fans before this album), other like this album for his musical risk and also his personal content. If you listen, Chris voice was thier best vocal performance to date, because it's sound so clean and agile and was revealed more the vunerability of Chris in his voice. In some songs, you hear this cry singing in some songs (like in ''O'' and ''True Love''), it's so painful to sings songs close to his personal life and so close to his feeling and the heart. More vulnerable to ''A Rush of Blood'' (depist it's have many sad songs of the album) and ''Parachutes''. ''A Sky Full of Stars'' sound joyful musically (for a EDM song), but if you listen vocally and lyrically, it's was very sad and vulnerable in the form. For Chris, this song was a song to after a dark time, you search the light of the tunnel and a song of resilience to help to view the light of the tunnel after a difficult time. Chris already write few personals songs in the past , the perfect example was ''Fix You'' (for the X&Y album) write about the death of his step-father Bruce Patrow (the father of Gwyneth) and recording with the piano of his step-father. But not a entire album like ''Ghost Stories''.

The second half of ''X&Y'' was more better to the first half. This album first half have just one good track (the title track) and two oky okay track (Fix You). But depist the second half was more good to the It's wasn't so much strong like in ''Parachutes'' and ''A Rush of Blood to the Head''. A Shame after the excellent ''A Rush of Blood to the Head''. Except one track, no garbage. With the gems like ''Daylight'', ''Clocks'', ''Politik'', or ''Warning Sign'', the composition was the major point why i love ''A Rush of Blood to the Head''. The songs ''Amsterdam'' and ''The Scientist'' was two ballads who Chris expressed his emotional side in this song. And ''Parachutes'' was a good album very quiet and soft-rock and a good listen (the three last tracks (particulary ''High Speed'' and ''Everything's is Lost'') was my favorites songs of the album). My ranking: 1. Everyday Life (love all about this album, the booklet, the songs (Daddy or Chruch was my favorites songs of this) and was a masterpiece) 2. A Rush of Blood to the Head (the quality of the composition and how the group improved compared to Parachutes, the composition sound better, the Chris voice sound better for the melody and this album and musically more edgy to ''Parachutes'') 3. ''Ghost Stories'' (Chris voice never sound so clear and he almost crying in this album, thier most personal and introspective album, written during the separation of Chris with Gwynth) 4. A Head Full of Dreams (a very good album and happiness after the sad and introspective Ghost Stories) 5. ''Viva La Vida'' (so explorative for the group and the first time who never irritated by Chris voice (who he used more his lower register) like for example in many songs of ''Parachutes'' and ''X&Y'' and few times in ''A Rush of Blood to the Head''. the group explored many unconventional like chruch, hispanic music, irish music and pop (the title track was the lead of thier later work)) 6. ''Music of the Spheres'' (The album that i wanted to listen thier discography, like this album with Coloratura has my favorite song of the album. A Good album) 7. ''Parachutes'' (a good debut album with the musical vibe was good, but Chris sound so irrited at many times (the perfect example was ''Shiver'', hate this song musically and vocally) and this is the reason why it's never on my favorites albums) 8. ''X&Y'' (was not so good and the second half was better to the first half, but not so good like the two first albums) 9. ''Mylo Xyloto'' (didn't like anything except the singles)

@@Luna.reviews ''Everyday Life'' was my favorite Coldplay album, so much experimental and not radio friendly at all. Love the transition chruch ring in the middle of the album. So much a piece of art. You touched the thing that why i didn't like X&Y, the problems was the songs. The first half was not so good except the title track (who this song was the best of the first half). The second half was better, for example, ''The Hardest Part'' was a incredible rock ballad and my favorite song of the album. Twister Logic'' ''A Message'' and ''Till Kingdow Come'' was also very good. ''X&Y'' just continued the sound of ''A Rush of Blood to the Head'' but with adding some electronic influences. ''Fix You'' was the most successful Coldplay ballad to date. At the other hand, ''A Rush of Blood'' was timeless and excellent 20 years after the released. ''Clocks'' was know to faconed thier definitive sound: The piano driven, who the group used later in many songs like ''Speed of Sound'', ''A Sky Full of Stars'' or ''Paradise'' for example. I easy three times ''Mylo Xyloto'' and no changed at all. At the other place, ''Viva La vida'' was a better place, because it's was a better listen at the second listen and i appreciate this hispanic ambiance. Chris voice sound better when he used more his lower register (he wanted to used the colour of his lower register then he never used in the three first albums). ''Viva la Vida'' song was for me the prelude of coldplay 2010's albums, because this song, unlike the old singles before, this song adventured more in the Pop. A huge difference to for example ''Clocks'' or ''Yellow'.

Like ''One'' by U2 many years before, ''The hardest Part'' was a rock ballad who Chris expressed just the essential in the lyrics and was more happy song then ''Fix You'' who this last was very sad and personal. ''The Hardest Part'' was my favorite song of the album.

X and Y is their best , after years of jamming my acoustic guitar to bands and albums from all decades , This album packs a punch with so many interesting and great chord progressions and melodies and atmosphere, I've never known an album that is solid and chock full of great pre chorus ' and bridges in the majority of its tracks on top of the already diverse verses and Chorus' itself , so much that it's overwhelming with variety and surprises even after many many listens You don't this much musical content in 1 album Any more

@@Luna.reviews I enjoyed colouratara and it’s length. That song felt like a space adventure. Humankind, higher power, and the Gomez collab were also good. Like the album art, and space theme. That’s why I like it. (And a rush of Blood to the Head is my 1 favorite by Coldplay Music of the Spheres is 2)

You seem to pretty much dislike half of their stuff. I love most of their work, just some more than others. I guess some people are bigger fans than others! To dismiss a whole album like X&Y as boring seems very much like a sweeping generalising to me, especially as it has some of their biggest and most popular hits. Thanks for your comment😊 there was a time where i like each and every single album by Coldplay, but now i've heard so much more music that when i go back to some albums i realize that i don't like them as much as i used to. X&Y for example does indeed have some of their biggest songs, if i say the album is boring it's because i've heard them far to many times and they haven’t aged well for me, but AROBTTH for example to this day is an album that in enjoy without feeling bored a single minute and same thing Mylo Xyloto, Viva La Vida, Parachutes etc... I must admit though you enjoy the songs you used to love more when you get older because there’s the nostalgia element there. You talk about ''A Whisper'', you are the only review that you like this song, because nobody like this song and that was the case of me. This was the perfect example of a filler and bad and horrific track. The lyrics was not confortable at all to listen and same thing with the musical instrumentation. I always skipped this song when i listen the album. You talk about ballads, this album have only two ballads (Amsterdam and Scientist), the rest was more rock oriented to ''Parachutes''. Also, the group explored the country-rock in this album (with the songs ''Green Eyes'' and ''Warning Sign'', who theses two song have a touch of country).

I believe A Whisper is a great song! Green Eyes, Warning Sing and the Tittle track are also ballads, they have rock in the hook but it's mostly written as a ballad. A Whisper is not as melodic as the rest of the album but give it another try full volume loud as hell and i think you'll quite like it.

@@Luna.reviews ​ I easy three times ''A Whisper'' after i buying the album and it's irritated me all three listens. I'm not the only one. almost all the fans of this album disliked this song for the same reason of me. I wasn't so much fan also to ''In my Place'', but unlike ''A Whisper'', i love the chorus, so was fire and excellent, it's the verses to i was problems with the melody, not always in point. But i always like more ''In My place'' to ''A Whisper''. You talk about ''Politik'' at the other hand, this song composed brillantly, slow in the verses and rock in the chorus and the arrangements was very complex. The Grammy performance of this song adding a orchestra, made the song in a another level of emotional pain. THe ending line of this song shape all in my body, it's so dramatic and painful. Because ''Politik'' talk about the New York tragedy in september 2001 and this was a message of love and compassion of all the peoples of the tragedy.

Politik is one of their best songs, the concept of a slow verse and loud chorus is really simple but in this song it works perfectly, really an amazing song.
