***** Hi John... I hear you. I just dropped another grand on a piece of gear that I cannot really afford. There are some really simple inexpensive DIY projects that will do wonders for a room. All my panels are constructed of 1x3's simply screwed together on each corner with a 2" wood screw. I purchased some rockwool insulation put it in the frame wrapped it with fabric, stapled the fabric to the back of the frames and hung them up. I made 8, 24x48" panels for about $140. Even hanging some wool or other heavy blankets on the walls will cut some of the highers frequencies. You don't have spend a tone of cash to get a good sound.
