Hey guys! Here's a video with my new baritone from Baton Rouge! This song is actually a cover I did back in 2013, when I had ~100 subscribers. There's a few songs I have been wanting to redo, and when this guitar arrived I new I had to re record this song, so this was recorded within a few hours of it arriving! As this is a remake of an old arrangement, I kept the tabs free and updated them to match this cover, but you don't need a baritone for it! Also, I have made some changes to my Patreon page, in particular, you can now get all my tabs free as soon as my videos are uploaded by pledging just $3 a month!

Really love this guitar man!! I have a Martin D-28 custom dreadnaught and I've been wondering if I should trade it in for a Taylor 416CE cutaway. Thoughts?
@JamesBartholomewMusic8 жыл бұрын
+Aman Lalka Its awesome! It makes even my dreadnought sound tiny :P Well, if you've tried the Taylor a few times and think you prefer it then go for it! They are very different guitars, so you also have to consider that maybe you prefer the Taylor because its a change from what you're used to, and whether you would prefer it long term. But if you're doing fingerstyle stuff, the Taylor may be more appropriate

I use to have a dog that went everywhere with me, she was an extension of me. I took her everywhere I went. I always told people that they didn't know me if they didn't know her. One day she began declining, the vet told me she had cancer. Only 2 months later I was at the vets office again to have her put out of her misery. this was the song that was playing in the waiting room in her final minutes. Every time I hear this song it brings me to tears. Now that she's gone, I feel like I am missing a limb now..This is an exquisite rendition of this song. My hats off to you good sir.

Greeeat James ! That bass line is sooo deeeep :D Does it change a lot to play on a baritone or it's pretty similar than a normal guitar? :)
@JamesBartholomewMusic8 жыл бұрын
+Robin Meys Thanks! Haha yes, it makes even my dreadnought sound small! I've had it for 2 and a half days now, for the first day it seemed to take a lot more energy to play, as in I would actually get tired (That's why there is a capo, I was struggling to keep the melodys clear and sustained, this was recorded the evening after the guitar arrived) but now it feels pretty effortless, I am used to big necks and heavy strings though. Also, you can't quite approach it in the same way as a standard guitar, hard to explain but different voicings work differently on baritone and standard it seems. I've got used to it pretty quick over the last couple of days, really enjoying playing it, its much more piano-like that a regular guitar, and it works really well for slow emotive stuff with big chords, but also really well for funky stuff. Oh, and its LOUD. Gonna be very fun finding what you can do with it, I've been wanting a baritone since I started playing fingerstyle and saw Andy Mckee playing Ebon Coast about 6 years ago! (It was really cool to finally play that on a baritone, or at least a baritone I own and not in a shop)
