I think that anybody with EYES can see how strong their chemistry is here, especially when they're leaning their foreheads against each other's. The way Rihanna is so absorbed in the role, the pain on her face, the way she closes her eyes and touches him feels so real. But I like as well the way he doesnt close his eyes. Since she's holding chinese sword (and the song is "Princess of China") while he's holding katana, has ninjas and altogether seem to be going more in the japanese style, I'd like to think that it is no careless mix of Japan and China, but that he actually represents some sort of prince of Japan. That makes them two people from two different worlds. It gets even more interesting, when you realise that it all somehow resembles the story of Star Lovers ("you stole my star...") which is a story known both in China and Japan and in both countries the story is a little different, just like the point of view of two people who used to be lovers. well we can't have them in 2019 because if somebody non chinese would dare to do such song today, all those sensitive people (that are usually not even "the targeted group") would rip them apart saying it is racist or smth because it's somebodies culture and how dare you touch it.
