Hi guys! Short one today... Let's pull the 1951 Ford Victoria Hardtop out and go for a little drive! This is one of the fine V8 autos from last year's "V8 Showdown", and I haven't started it since race day... Let's see how it still goes!
Thanks so much to everyone who ordered a 1937 Chevy shirt! They are being printed now and we'll ship them out as soon as they are done! ... Cheers from me and Miss Frankers!
See you on Saturday for the SOS...

Just had a random thought, Something like that or another beyond repairing car, roughed in bodywork, and painted up like an old school Race car, (50's 60's) Dirt Speedway, for Yard Art. Using all the 2nds Panels/Parts, Running gear, Brakes. So it's still Driveable and Fun to beat around in the Backyard. And make it kinda useful as a Farm/Work hack, ( trailer hitch ) Rough, Tough and looks like an Absolute beast of a car.. And best of all , Should only cost a few hundred dollars. . Just a Thought. ( had a few Beers btw lol) Love from Australia

Hey Scott, have you ever noticed that 51 Fords used the 49 50 Meteor hood? 57 Ford factory grille guard is also a Meteor design, no need for the vee with a Ford grille. 59 Ford grille is a series of four pointed stars, if that is not a Meteor design, then I will eat my hat. I would love to see what the Canadian designers had in mind for the 58 Meteors before they were canceled and then reinstated at the last minute. 1961 Meteor Montcalm is still one of my all time favorite cars.

Scott, with a tad of effort the ole Victoria came back to life! I had a 51 4 door Ford back in the early 60s and it was a strong runner! Had to replace the clutch and eventually needed brakes before a neighbor bought it after my uncle gave me his 52 Plymouth. The Ford was a $150 gift from my dad who wrecked my $100 49 2 door Ford in a role reversal between father and teen ager! I never wrecked any of his cars but who's keeping score? Cheers til Saturday!

Don't get me wrong, you did a decent job building that '51, but it would be a lot better if you installed a set of Ardun heads and a S.Co.T. blower. Also, you should really consider having all the chrome replated, it's really detracting from what is otherwise a pristine car.

*Vicky!* There it is, my favorite camera angle/shot - the one that says "classic CWM" to me - that low angle across the driveway up to the road. I don't know enough about camera terminology to explain it properly, but that low shot across the yard + drive pointing towards the highway just profiles the cars so well... Like a one-car parade as they go by. You can go back several years on this channel and see that same shot w/different cars and it's just so dang cool! - Ed on the Ridge

@@HawklordLI That's not the way I see it because the engine is pretty much shot too. Worn out because of no maintenance. The rest of the car is the same. Don't forget that It also rolled over once!!! There is no second = donor car and the vehicle will be worth not much after a restoration. All in all: Quite the opposite of the sliced Plymouth. Additionally the Ford isn't beautiful nor rare.

You just cannot beat the low low idle of a flathead V8. Magnificent to see the beast fire up so easily after a year of slumber. The Vicky has some great lines and would look fantastic if she was more intact, but getting her to that point would be way more work than one summer's worth and how much demand for the finished product would there be....besides us mad buggers of course!

Hey Scott, I was hanging for a toke of coldawarmotors this week! Great Job on Laura's P5. Do remind Keith that a relay fitted for the headlamps will save the main switch from cooking as most of them do (probably why it had no lights originally as I recall). Also, the wiper motor that you didn't recognize at first has a knurled knob on the side whereby one can adjust the wipers sweep when switching them off. This reverses the motion and parks the blades, rising over and tucking under the chrome windscreen surround resting behind the fresh air intake in the centre and onto its little chrome pedestal on the right. This also ensures that the sweep of the blades in normal usage starts closer to the right of the screen and doesn't lift up off the left curve of the screen at the end of its stroke. They're almost out of sight when not in use, a really neat feature I've not seen on any other cars. Incidentally, you'd be well-advised to obtain a head gasket set from Rimmer Bros or Australia if you can find one. There's a wretched fat O-ring at the thermostat bypass that slowly turns to stone then pops one fine day, necessitating removing the head...
