It seemed like rocha should have been awarded two points for a sweep abate was looking to pass and he got swept 1:40 , I guess I went out of bounds in the yellow but Cole even got to half guard. I don't know why they didn't reset them in the middle with Cole having that butterfly hook and a grip on that belt 🤷

The ref was right bro. In that case Cole was not in Romulo's guard (Cole's body was not in Romulo's leg control) and that is why Romulo didn't get points for sweep (I remind that sweep is position changing from GUARD POSITION, not any position even like controlled position as mount, back, side control). This is IBJJF rule and I think it's rational.

@@VincentAG03 yes, but Cole was on his body SIDE, not FRONT, so it didn’t mean a “guard” position. Maybe some easy reference can give him an advantage (sometimes it depends on each refs) but overall he couldn’t be given 2 points in this case.

Looked into It yes they promoted him to brown after this event, Then 7months later winning a bunch of matches and competitions at brown they gave him his black belt
