I am a fellow tubie and have had my tube for about 10 years now. I also take care of a little girl who has one. Something that has really helped me (especially in the beginning) is using calmoseptine ointment and alum powder (in the spice section at the grocery store) to treat granulation tissue. You mix it together to create a paste then apply it to the stoma. It can sting a bit at first, but it doesn't hurt nearly as much as the silver nitrate that the doctors will try to treat you with. It works wonders.

I always keep extra supplies with me because you never no and she had the slow feeding tube blthen I didn't need to burp her I would use a different kind of syringe and it would burp her my daughter miracle got her at 9 months old
@MadisonGrover-x4r11 күн бұрын
Why do you have to fast when you get surgery anyway?😊
@ShannonAndersen9 күн бұрын
I believe it’s mostly for the purposes of anesthesia! So that the metabolism of the anesthetic isn’t affected during the procedure

Shannon Anderson WHY DOES COLE NEED A FEEDING TUBE? HE SEEMS SO HEALTHY.
@ShannonAndersen13 күн бұрын
haha he mostly is!! but he has a rare disease that can only be managed with frequent doses of cornstarch which are easiest and best fed through a tube. I went into a bunch of detail on my instagram and have a highlight tab saved outlining all of the reasons we made this decision if you're curious💞
