The Walleye Queen. I have only had Walleye one time, and have never had a better tasting fish in my life. I love Crappie, but that Walleye was even better. Southeast Texas isn't known for Walleye, so maybe I need to make a trip north a little bit. Good video, and thanks.

Congrats on the walleye Jay, I think I hung one once, where in the water it looked like a walleye, just like one. You know you can get topographical maps from the U.S. Geological Survey! I thought of offering old maps I had for South Louisiana, but these are over 40 years ago, which there’ll be places that opened up but plenty filled in. Which Six Mile Lake and Ag instructor said he could look out across and see the horizon, where then it may have been a mile across, but still leads to the Atchafalaya River, which plenty of good fishing,

I watch these videos and then all I want to do is talk fishing. I grew up fishing below a hydro- electric dam on the Mississippi. Flood way openings will turn the bite on, well we had a train bridge over our dam and every time a train came by the smallies and eyes would bite. I spent enough time there to notice that half of these trains would leak off wheat being brought east from North Dakota. Just a good guess but I think that smaller bait fish would rise to the occasion to snack up on the wheat droppings and that would trigger my stringer fish. It really was a repeatable pattern. Well, fishing is a blast and these videos keep me going as I get older. Yes, they trigger me and make me regret that I am not putting in to it what I used to. I would trust you both to fillet and cook my eyes. As good of knife work as can be done. Gosh they look tasty

I went out this morning to our local park which has 2 small lakes and a spillway between the lakes. I fished the spillway. The first pool is about 25 yards by 40 yards. My goal was to catch some small bluegill to take home and bury in the garden beside the tomato plants. Well, I got small bluegill and a few suckers. Then I casted and got a tangle at the reel. Cleared that and started reeling the line in when I noticed that it was moving UP the water flow. Pulled in a 1 1/2 lb. channel kitty! That fish was 16 inches long! I was using ultralight gear. Glad I had the drag set low. That fish has been cleaned and is soaking in saltwater in the fridge. The Dinks are now fertilizing the tomato plants.

Walleye are so lazy. Where i’m from the columbia river you have to know very specific rocky ledges or you wont find em. In the river. The only way to reliable catch them is below dams. They just sit there most of the year.
