Mean Gene, Some folks go fishing for food, and looking at this dude, I'm sure he saw a nice Sunday Dinner being put back in the drink. I agree 100%, that Jay should've of let the man have the fish, I know he would've put it to good use feeding his family. I know Jay saw the Buffalo as a big beautiful fish who deserved to swim away for another day of life, I also feel that having some compassion for the elderly fisherman who's is fishing for food should take precedence over conservation. Please share some of your fish for those who politely ask I don't know how y'all come across all these great fishing holes, y'all had a wonderful day of fishing action, hooking into those Huge Buffalo's. That's what I call an action packed fishing day full of excitement. Love y'all.

That dude is wearing newish blue jeans, a down vest, $40.00 hat and a pretty heavy duty bait casting set up. Pretty sure he isn't starving. It's bad etiquette to stand there with your stringer in hand asking for the fish. If Jay didn't want to let it go she would have offered the fish, which is then just fine to accept. My guess is if the guy was truly in need, Cole and Jay would have given him that fish, their other fish and taken him to Chick Fillet.

@@jeffreyyenior9757 dang I didn't investigate the guy for homeland security. It's not about what the guy could afford. Fresh home cooked fish is what he wants. Lol I don't see anything wrong with asking for someone's fish if they are throwing it back. Not like begging for money are something. Geez

FYI, If you score the pieces with all those tiny bones in them, in a cross hatch pattern before you coat them in the corn meal, those tiny bones get cooked/dissolved out and you have a really good piece of fish left! Once I found that trick, I now enjoy buffalo fish.

They are native to America, whereas carp are not. Commercial fisherman get as much as six times more for buffalo than carp. We shipped the buffalo we caught to the Chicago fishmarket. A lot of it went to Jews for gefilte fish.

Fried buffalo ribs are great. But if you want to eat the whole fish. Cook it on the grill wrapped with. Heavy aluminum foil a can of beer stick of butter. Salt pepper to taste. Cook until the meat falls off the bones. Best way I've. Found to tell when it's done. Is when the meat separares away from. The fin on the back on it's on. About 3 hours for a fish that size. As always God Bless love y'all. PS all the little bones can be easily removed with your fingers

There are videos on how to fillet out the "Y" bones. There are 2 rows. One row goes the entire length, one row only about halfway. It is relatively easy to pick the bones out of cooked fish though, but of course not necessary, if you use the right fillet technique.

Knew a guy years ago that proved to me Buffalo fish were very good. Most people don't like them because of their bones. This guy said his grandpa had taught him how to chop up the bones with a meat cleaver to where when fried those bones would be very crunchy and could be eaten. They were wonderful and the bones were crunchy and could be eaten. Wished I remembered how he did this but it truly worked.

I'm not a fan of bow fishing and not using what you shoot either. I teach my grand kids that you don't hurt anything in nature without good reason and when you do, use it. I hunt and release many fish into the frying pan, but killing for no reason is disrespectful in all sorts of ways. Great videos as always. You two are very genuine and natural which makes watching your videos enjoyable.

Overnight fishing at Saylorville Dam Iowa. Snagged accidentally of course 50 lb Flathead.. guys from across the way ran around to look at it. They said he is going to take it up the hill just showing friend in the car he wants to take a picture.. I kind of sensed.. while a couple guys that waited by me meandered back up the hill talking. Took off with the fish. Never fish overnight by yourself things could have gotten out of hand. I just waved them off as they drove away. Not the first time I've caught 50 lb flat heads snag fishing.
