Thanks for this video. I wondered if it would be difficult to set it up by myself. I have a 6 person Coleman Instant tent that I enjoy. The first time I used it, winds at night resulted in a minor tear above one of the roof vents [really minor, maybe an 1.5"]. Since I used/have a fly, it's no big deal. Friends told me to tell Coleman. Coleman offered me replacement tent! But then, they had no 6-person tents left in stock and sent me an 8-person tent instead!! I'm the only one camping, so it's way too big. However, it's nice to know that one person can set it up in a reasonable amount of time. I kept the 6-person and still use it.

Hi Ken. Just ordered this tent on Saturday. Can't wait to get it and camp out in my yard. I enjoy all your vids.

The second tent video I have watched as I begin the outdoors lifestyle - compared to the other video that I just viewed yours was much more informative and structured . I learned LOTS and was glad to see that you put a tarp down BEFORE you set your tent up. Thanks for the video

I am glad that it helped! I just did another video on this Coleman 8 Man tent, an "after action" report after living in it for five weeks in Idaho. You will find it on my Channel, or search for: Coleman 8 man after action report.

What size tarp did you use? I have the same tent and going to use it for the 1st time in about 10 days.

Can you provide links to this tent and the rainfly? Will this fit a king air mattress and a bassinet or pack and play?

I am definitely going to pick a spot in the trees this year to pitch this new tent. I've had too may windstorms ruin my stuff up there because I was camped out in the open!

OMG! I need one of these! The best sleep in the world is sleeping under the stars with nature serenading you and waking up in the morning refreshed 🌌😴🏕 And since that has a divider, my friend and I can share it and dress and sleep in privacy. Morning hikes and afternoon/evening swims in a nearby lake. Good to go!

I would get the 8-man, if you are going to make a "big" deal out of it. Hahahahaha! Seriously, though, I think the 8-Man would make the better ("all-around use tent).

Why did you park so far away from the Post Office? Nice tent. You could have flagged the two poles one on each side of the door as well as flagging the door. It is a lot quicker to take down than your old set-up. Thank you for the video, Ken

That parking lot at the post office is on the side of the building, and I always park there because this town is full of centenarians and I don't want one of them running into my 50K truck! OMG! Put the flagging on the POLE! Why the f*** didn't I think of that much better idea??? Once more, Canadian ingenuity wins the day again!

Does your buddy heater do okay in your tent? I had been putting it off using in my tent as I was worried about it possibly catching the tent on fire.
@THEWILDLIFEOV5 жыл бұрын
I have never had any issues with it so far, but I usually turn it off before going to sleep and just leave the pilot light burning. However, when I used it in my smaller 6 man Coleman last winter it was -5 out so I had to leave it going on Low...and in hindsight I should have turned it up to at least Medium because a small water jug and a dozen eggs I had in the tent froze solid! I know what you mean, though. There's always that gnawing little feeling out that glowing red heater sitting on the thin PVC floor of the tent! This year in Idaho, I will be using my Mr. Big Buddy exclusively for heat, and I am going to be taking my woodstove "stove mat" with me and will be putting my Mr. Buddy on it. That way, there will be zero worries about the tent floor catching on fire...and always make sure you have the heater well away from the tent walls or anything else. You could also use a small section of a "welder's blanket" to accomplish the same thing. Here's the stove mat I have: www.walltentshop.com/collections/wood-camp-stove-parts

PS: And be sure to always leave some of your windows zipped down a little, for ventilation. I usually leave about a 5" gap in at least two of the windows, that are across the tent from one another.

I know, it can be a real hassle! I HATE threading those damned jointed fiberglass poles through those nylon sleeves! Look into getting a Coleman 6 Man Instant Cabin, it would be perfect for you!
@zeroedinwithzeke40595 жыл бұрын
They aren’t fiberglass. They are aluminum for our tent. It’s pretty much a set up version of the 6 man instant wall tent. Pretty sturdy though.

Tents have certainly come a long way in the last 20 years. They are so much easier to set up and take down now days for sure. And I would think that your new tent would be absolutely lock down 100% weather proof too since it has the 2 layered roof system up above. It is nice to throw in a little comfort while you are camping, especially when you are out tramping through the woods hunting all day and just need to get a little rest before you head out again. I think you nailed it here!!! Enjoy yourself my friend and let's pray for success on the recall of Oregon Governor Kate Brown also while we are at it. She is a total evil imbecile in my opinion. Thanks for sharing your videos my friend.

We absolutely do need to recall Governor Commie Kate! And if the voters in this state can't make that happen, I will be living in this new tent. In Idaho.
