Coleman high stands old and new

I have 5 of the coleman high stands from the late 80 s and they still work perfect

The thing about the old stands was the fact that they had to accommodate 3 different sizes of stoves. 2 burner “briefcase”, 2 burner “suitcase” and 3 burner stoves. With Coleman after 1983 moving away to other units that had legs of their own Coleman had to figure out cost effectiveness. the other thing that I am surprized Coleman hasn’t done is incorporate some type of hook and loop that is attached to one of the legs in order to wrap around them to keep them from coming open on accident and have easier transportation.

I have an aluminum one from the 60 or 70’s that was given to me, I don’t trust it, too flimsy , Can’t really figure out how it hooks together

I have 3 or 4 of the old aluminum ones that's the model between these. It's basically the same design as the steel one, but aluminum and much lighter. Still nice, strong and wobble free like the steel one too. That new one? Too much plastic for my taste. Don't drop it on a cold day. I use mine for stoves, coolers, and tables with a piece of plywood or the roll up top I made like a roll top desk. The roll up is cool and packs nice, but I have to admit, the painted plywood one is better. Hi Stands are great accessories to have. Ice keeps much longer in your cooler when you get it off the ground too.

I think the older stand is capable of a little more width than you showed in your video. And I agree with the other comment - older is better in this case.
