I will definitely try this recipe. It looks so refreshing. Liked your mandolin. I have one but it is so big and bulky that it stays in the cupboard mostly. Where can I get one like yours?

Just beautiful. I've tried this style of coleslaw at a few of the better Texas BBQ joints with German roots. Big difference between just tossing everything together and letting it sit, versus pressing the veggies. Like a quick pickle. I've seen recipes with caraway or celery seeds as well. And no mayo, so it's light, well seasoned, and very refreshing! Thank you, chef!

I know this video is 3 years old, but I wanted to comment. I was given a recipe in the 1990s for coleslaw without mayonnaise, which was good for me because I don't like mayonnaise. Anyway, the shredded cabbage and onion is mixed with apple juice (for the sugar) and apple cider vinegar, mustard seeds, and paprika (and salt, of course!). It's delicious, not sweet, and no mayonnaise.
