Thanks for being here! If you want to watch these movies FULLY uncut and all of my movie discussion, check out my Patreon linked below :). Which is YOUR favorite Spider-Man Movie? This was such a different take on the character, Peter Parker, compared to Spiderman 1-3. Andrew's version is very unhinged and almost like he uses his powers to bully and mess with his prey at times. He is in so much pain from uncle Ben's death, which is understandable, but I weas not expecting this side of Peter Parker at all!

Him mocking his enemies is actually a famous comic book characteristic linked to Spider-Man’s personality that was noticeably absent in Tobey Maguire’s portrayal. It’s not coming from a place of arrogance, but rather him trying to get his foes down at their game and as a coping mechanism for Peter as he’s usually scared in these situations.

Andrew's version of Spider-Man is way too cocky. It's true that Spider-Man love taunting his enemies with his quibs but not as Peter Parker and Gwen does not know that he's Spider-Man in the comics.

Is Peter in the comments as socially inept ? I know Andrews Peter was an even bigger science geek than Toby’s peter and him creating the web shooters is comic accurate but I’ve seen people say Peter in the comics has better social skills. Hell Andrews Peter is actually more socially inept than Toby’s, point being the scene where he asks out Gwen 😂

I think the dinner scene with Captain Stacy( Gwen’s dad) is way more important than most think and shouldn’t be seen simply as Captain Stacy being harsh. Nothing Captain Stacy is saying is incorrect at this point all Peter has done was beat up a bunch of criminals that all look the same which paints him less as a hero and more of some masked crazy person hunting a specific target, he is right in saying it’s all vendetta, and it gives Peter a reality check on how he’s doing things and pushes him down the road of taking more responsibility. This is a scene where a character has to face their flaws either by facing consequences of their actions or another character calling them out on it.

Peter doesn't meet Mj till college before that he has A girlfriend named Betty Brandt, Gwen stacy, then Mj and much much more after MJ. At the comics it’s Gwen Stacy the original girlfriend of Spider-Man, there were four friends from school: Peter, Harry, Gwen and Harry, and Peter was Gwen’s boyfriend, so Harry and Mary Jane were couple; Gwen died because of Green Goblin (actually it happens the same way with these series of Spider-Man movies with Emma Stone), and since it’s been quite a long time at the comics, the characters were already not that young to be at school when Mary Jane came back to Peter’s life and there’s when they have their relationship that even grows to getting married; at the movies, the first ones, Mary Jane is kinda the way it was at the beginning but with Gwen Stacy, and at the Tom Holland: don’t have any idea where they took the MJ character by Zendaya, since it’s not Mary Jane (the M stands for Michelle, and at the comics, after the first period, yes, eventually Mary Jane was always called mJ), don’t have any idea where that character comes from but no, it’s not like at the comics. This Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy might be the closest to the comic books original characters next to aunt May, Harry and his father from the first movies with Tobey Maguire.

Good reaction --- and just for some context, the Gwen Stacy character was technically Peter Parker's first love interest in the comics. Mary Jane, his main love interest, came after. I suppose that it's kind of live the Superman story in which Superman's main love interest is Lois Lane, but in reality, his first TEENAGE love interest in the town of Smallville was Lana Lang. But Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane are the main couple. Also, IMHO, Tobey Maguire movies made the best version of the Spider-Man character, and Tom Holland makes the best version of Peter Parker. And although I actually like the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies, tbh he does not make the best version of Peter Parker or Spider Man. His 'Peter Parker' character is too cool...too slick.

Peter was the one that gave flash his nickname. They used to be friends as kids and Pete called him “flash” cuz he’d run so fast

@@Kloxyyy amazing spider-man comics, in the secound part, we have a flashback issue about Flash life and Peter before the bite, we see the paralels between they two, and when Peter calls him Flash. And yes, this is canon, its made by Stan Lee.

The problem I have with this film is where they try to merge two different tones at the same time and it doesn’t really pay off. Having a horror vibe while spider man was spouting shitty jokes just did not hit. Plus the way his origin was handled in this film misses the whole point on why Peter decided to become spider man. When Peter comes face to face with the man who killed uncle Ben, that moment was the time where he realised how big he fucked up, and him being spider man was to live up to uncle bens last words and legacy, and to take accountability for his actions… this film didn’t get it.

47:52 "Is this what the comic book's theme is? All of them?" Not exactly. The reason why many Marvel supervillains come from science experiments gone wrong is because you need an origin story for the superheroes. Many of _those_ have been based in science -- either experiments gone right or happy accidents or experiments that went wrong but whose curses have been overcome by their hero -- so it only makes sense, then, for supervillains in that universe to arise from similar circumstances.

Toby will always be my big screen spider man but Garfield's is closer to what I saw in comics and cartoons in the 90s when I was a kid.

So, I have a few more needs-to-watch that are relevant to the MCU, and when would it be needed. So I'm starting with the X-men movies, starting it before Wandavision (you don't have to, but at least you will have to know about Evan Peters's Pietro Mximoff) X-men movies are in a different universe, as well as Deadpool movies. BUT deadpool 1,2 needs to be watched after all the X-men movies, but you can find the correct order. Next is Venom movies before No Way Home, now those are not my favorite, but the end of the second blah blah blah... it has SOMETHING that you would be confused about, if you heven't watched Let there be Carnage. And the third that you would need is the Defenders + Punisher shows. It is not as relevant now as it will be later, but believe me it will worth a try. I don't think that NOW you need the whole saga, now you only need the first season of Daredevil, but on later you (and a lot of people) do need more of Jessica Jones, Frank Castle ect.
