This is so fun! I watched Shaytards religiously through my adolescence, I am now a 32 year old woman, rarely have time for KZbin anymore but it looks like you are able to always produce the content appropriate for every journey in my life. Very much looking forward to the rest of this series ❤

Words cannot express how comforting your family’s videos were for me as a child. I grew up with a very abusive father. You were such a light and I always looked up to you as a child. (And still do) I am 25 years old now and I live with my boyfriend of 7 years and our 2 cats. Life got better and I thank you for the impact you made on me. Lots of love from Long Island 🤍

I can’t believe it’s been close to 20 years. You and your family got me through hard teen years. If I was ever a mother you’d be my role model. You’re an absolute Angel on earth and we are so blessed to have seen your beautiful grow up on screen. So many memories. Love you!! 💕

I found the Shaytards in 2009! It was my escape from reality cause my family dynamic really wasn’t that great. I’m grateful for finding your family in my formative years. ❤

I’m glad you decided to go with the macro version lol! I’ve been with you guys since you moved from Idaho to CA. I remember your kids sharing a bed and I thought it looked so fun! I’m now 31 with 4 children of my own. I did not come from a happy family and I just admired you and Shay as parents and as a couple so much! Now I’m living my dream as a stay at home mom and homeschooling my children with a wonderful husband who is my best friend. Married for 10 years now. I would love to hear more about your faith and how you are empowered through Jesus. Much love to you and your family. I’m so happy you have decided to do a podcast ❤

Your family's videos have been a valuable part of my life since just before you moved to California. You once helped a friend of mine in our little mountain town that you did not know turn a bad day into a good one. That confirmed for me that your YT persona and approach to life are legit 🌞

Shaytards truly was a safe haven for me in really formative years - I’m now just about to be 26, so I watched at a pretty young age. I had two older brothers, but with a decent age gap, it seemed they never wanted anything to do with me. It felt more like an only child experience. Not only that, but my dad was struggling with addiction….I always knew it, but I pretended I didn’t. Ignorance is bliss. Once I found Shaytards, I found a family bond and sibling bond that I hadn’t (and wouldn’t) experience. My eyes light up with every vlog, it’s as if it was the 4th of July and I was watching the finale of a beautiful firework show - that is how much I looked for and found comfort in the vlogs.

I had never watched KZbin until I found Shaytards, you were everything I wanted in a family and showed me how, as unfortunately I didn’t grow up with parents like you. I believe you when I think it was your calling. I hope you all know how much you mean to a lot of people 😊

The Shaytards have become a staple in my “tv” rotation. Kind of like a comfort sitcom. I’ll watching year 1-2 (because that’s the years easily catalogued online,) then start over. Excited for part 2. 😊

As someone who's dad really wasn't viewing me as the kind of son he wanted, watching you guys helped me know what kind of father I wanted to be. Even seeing the unitard dancing reminds of what I do now and why. You guys have been a significant blessing in my life.

Gosh Colette, thank you for bringing so many good memories, I must have been here from the very beginning as you reminded me of episodes I had forgotten about. You and your family have already had so many experiences, some pure joy and some tough times too. It’s so easy to forget the beginning of your online journey and the normal everyday struggles but regardless you pushed through and together as parents and a very supportive family dug deep and yes financially it paid off…..BUT no doubt it will have brought its own problems which I’m not going over as what I want is to acknowledge how hard you and Shay faced what must have felt like insurmountable pathways made worse by the fact your ‘famous’ online presence made you vulnerable and so many happily lined up their arrows and shot! So moving on how many of us could be thrashed to a pulp and vanished? But instead you all fought hard to resolve and salve the pain and hurt ….and in doing so have grown individually and collectively and kept your family together, in my opinion that is the foundation and truth of the Shaytards….who deserve admiration and not castigation and I would ask that we all remember even though looking at screen the fact is those on the other side have feelings the same as we do and so bear that in mind and think about it before posting as in how would you feel by the words you write. Right, that’s enough out of me….you can blame me being 100% Irish….why use 15 words when you can use 500 both saying the same thing…grin. Colette you have grown so much, searched deep to find parts you may not have known existed but most of all the strength and bravery to share you the real you and personally I feel privileged and appreciate you showing us your strength and vulnerability at the same time. It’s very much okay to be both or whatever you feel at any given time. Hug…if okay….Jacinta

Colette, you are a beautiful person, inside, and out. You have always had a heart of gold. I have watched your family since the first video of the Leotard vlog. Thank you for being so strong and showing others they can also become strong. I am so happy you have found yourself. Your true essence. Please keep God at the center. But, I already know you know that. I can't believe that your two oldest are out of the nest and "baby tard" haha will be flying the nest before we all know it. You two have a beautiful family. Marriage is not perfect but choosing each other every single day the good and the bad is all you can do. Block out the haters. We as a community do not know you all personally and only get bits of your life. I could see how selfless you were on the vlogs. You would follow Shays's lead. If he was busy you would take care of it yourself.

I wish I could add a photo to this comment but I started watching when I was a sophomore in high school in ‘12 and met the Shaytards at Playlist in ‘16 when I was a freshman in college. At the conference, I told you (Colette) that my tard name was Swimmertard. I don’t know what it would be now, but I know you were a small part of my teenage years. I thank you for your support and positive thoughts over the years.

im so thrilled that you have decided to embark on this project❤️ I can’t wait to learn more about you and even learn about myself through your stories because we really are so similar at the core 🙏 im especially excited for you to speak on nutrition, and i would love for you to share your thoughts on veganism! I don’t want to make this about myself, but I’ve been pescatarian for a while, as I am trying to slowly go vegan (in hopes of getting closer to God). However, food/cooking is my greatest passion, but it is also my greatest addiction. I’m in limbo because avoiding chicken has caused me to continuously relapse into bulimia. I believe our biggest struggles are usually our greatest strengths, but I don’t know which diet is closest to God’s will for me. Enough about me though lol… again, im glad that you are creating with purpose and allowing us to experience your art ❤️
